Medial ligament damage in his other knee now according to most newspapers and reports.

This is a massive blow for us and I reckon its time to recall David Meyler from Hull and give him a run in the team in that role. He has the height and the physical presence that Colback, Gardener and Vaughan just don't have at all and we desperately need a ball winner in the middle of the park or we are feckin goosed.

That or a new signing in January.

I think both teams are in massive trouble at the moment mate. We simply can't sustain injuries to players like Cabaye just like you lads can't with Cattermole. He'll be a big loss for you (not that you need telling).

As for us I'm actually dreading a home match against Wigan, surely that can't be correct?!! <yikes>

    Bad crack if true...

Don't see Colback or Larsson as the answer for this season.

Current situation is horrific, both teams are currently involved in a relegation battle. Anyone who doesn't believe that is burying their head in the sand.

This is really bad news, and in my opinion the only solution is to change to a more attacking formation so as to try and by-pass the central midfield area to a larger extent to what we do at the moment. Our current tactics seem to result in the ball being stuck in the central midfield area an awful lot which has resulted in a lot of pressure being put on Cattermole.

    This is a ****ing disaster.

Who the **** decided he should play last night, I could have told you it'd happen, indeed the lad I went to match with said as soon as the team went on Twitter.

    ****.

Could easily be brought on by over using the other for weight distribution in the build up.

Whatever the reason, this is a blow, a massive, massive blow.

We now have 0 CM's that I rate, it's a ****ing disaster marra.

Trying to avoid pressure on one knee causing to much pressure on the other.

Whatever the reasons, his absence is a massive blow for us right now and a major headache for a manager under some mounting pressure to start wining matches pretty soon, to stem the rising tide of pessimism gathering pace at the SOL.

Colback, Gardener, Vaughan just don't cut it imo. David Meyler MUST be recalled now if he is out till next year.

Meyler has 35 games in 4 years if he is the best we can look to then sorry but GULP!!

Not saying he hasnt looked OK in those games, but its not really experience is it, and I would go as far to say just a tad injury prone to say the least.

I would play Gardner and Vaughan in the middle I dont rate either really but Colback isnt working and I dont think Meyler will either.

We've seen Gardener, Vaughan and Colback. Computer says no.

I'm not saying Meyler is Didier Deschamps but he is a far better than those 3 and can add height and physical presence. We have 5 weeks until January transfer window and we need re-enforcements now to get us there.

Meyler isn't the answer IMHO either mate but he is another option if nothing else.

Vaughan, Larsson and Gardner were brought in from relegated clubs. McClean is an unfinished product playing for a premier league club. Is it any coincidence our midfield is struggling to cope? I don't think so...

MON attempted to begin the correction of the mess left by Brucie by bringing in what 99% of us considered quality in AJ however so far it would appear asthough he is more interested in being merry with the man from Derry slurping on a few to many glasses of sherry.

AJ shows glimpes of excellence, his ball to Fletcher the other week was quite simply majestic. There arn't enough superlatives to describe such an exquisite selection and execution. However, how can you soar like an eagle when you are surrounded by geese? Herein is the issue at hand.

if he is better than those (not sure how you can say that mind with the amount of games he had had but whatever) then why did MON send him out on loan to begin with.

His saving grace for me is he is only 23 (thought he was a lot older than that) so he does have time on his side, but he is on loan for a reason (and only had 4 games for hull).

He was sent to Hull to get match fit and to be fair, hull have been doing well this season so he cant expect to just walk into the team. 2 bad injuries have taken there toll and he may not be able to hack it mate but I won't know until I see him have a run in the team. All I am saying is that none of the current crop can fill Catts shoes imo and the closest thing to him I've seen is Meyler pre injuries.
