Rumours that we're upgrading the training facilities in February and going for Cat 2 status next season.

    Anyone heard anything?

Sounds expensive. Who'd pay for that?

It would come out of the PL money i would suggest but i wonder if EU grants could also help in part fund this ?

Good news if not overdue news if true.

What Cat are we at the moment? What upgrades would we need to move to cat 2? I know this has all been mentioned before but can't be bothered to look through all the previous threads!

A Premier League football club qualifying for an EU grant?

Have a word with yourself. <doh>

We're the lowest category at the moment, to improve we'd need to improve our facilities to include indoor training pitches etc and I think you have to commit £2-3m a year for coaching etc.

I suspect that might be part of the problem!

Hope its true, was there yesterday watching my grandson playing for the Under 11's,it is ok when the weather is mild but offers no cover for winter.Plus the changing facilities are way to small for the number of teams playing there every week

I know it's doubtful for a number of reasons, but is there any connection to this and the pending changes to RL academies?

According to Mussie, the Ideal ground will close and I'm assuming that everything would move to Cottingham(there's fields at two ends of the training ground).

Is this what it has come to on here, personal insults in place of intelligent debate?

It seems it is going to be at Bishop Burton from next February, it's a clever move, it's a great site and it's already got most of what we'd need for a Cat 2 academy.

    Well done City.

Rental I guess? Isn't this just another 'temporary fix'? Shouldn't the club be looking at a purpose built facility rather than 'lodging'?
