Reform party 'share of vote' so far is on a par with Conservatives, Lib Dems, plus Greens all added together.
Reform running on one promise "stop brown people entering the country", yet they have NO credible plan on how to actually do this, because it's nigh on impossible, but people still voting for them.
As suspected, where I live has switched to Lib Dem and most of the surrounding constituencies have switched from blue to either orange or red.
Brilliant. Liz Truss trying to avoid having to go on stage to face being told she'd lost her seat. Crowd slow handclapping until she finally came out. She tred to stand at the side, unseen, looking very awkward. Hilarious.
Always - Bristol and Brighton... If you've ever been they are the most "alternative" areas I've ever been to in the UK - massive student populations as well so lots of young voters who think putting your rubbish in the right bin is more of a going concern than taxes and pensions. Reform have done Conservative right over and basically split the the opposition vote to Labour. Pretty much every constituency that Labour gained from conservative would have been held if Reform weren't a factor - appreciate that's nearly impossible to say as you can't say those reform voters would have voted elsewhere (ok we pretty much can) but if Reform's votes were cast for Conservatives the election would have been a much closer run.
True but they are well established parties with half decent/realistic manifestos - reform had a manifesto like taking a child into a sweet shop and saying "get everything you want" and then when they'd have got to the till they'd have had to say sorry you can have a coca cola bottle and a curly wurly but put the rest back.
I think the 'share of vote' shows that people are now more inclined to vote based on the policies on offer, not just the specific party. Which is a good thing. Historically many families/regions have 'always' been allied to one party or the other, regardless of the actual policies or the individuals leading that party at the time. Of course there will always be some of those staunch supporters, who stick by one party regardless. But I think more and more people now are willing to question and challenge the policies and vote on that basis. Which is a good thing.
If that were truly the case majority of voters would have Lib Dem. The Reform Party policies were pie in the sky and all public services would disappear
Think its the Tories fault across the board after an awful couple of years - Brexit, Covid management, Inflation, Liz Truss and Kwartey Kwatang and the mortgage debacle, being caught time and again lying cheating and stealing. People voting for Reform would have voted conservative if they'd felt able to in my opinion but the Tories were unelectable this time around and reform have prayed on this.
