With Torres doing poorly at the moment (Just seen his disallowed goal.. lol) me and my mate who is a Liverpool fan were having a discussion about Carroll and how well he is actually doing.

Since he has come to Liverpool it has been 11 weeks now, and he has played 5 matches overall.

Now that means he's scored 2 in 5, not exactly prolific even though everyone has said he's been doing really well...

Due to our brilliant maths skills (we both do maths AS Level) we worked out that he has been paid around £900,000 if the rumors are true and he is being paid £80,000 a week.

Add this to the money they payed straight up (£30,000,000) and they have paid quite a bit of money for someone that hasn't been that prolific so far. And I know that they have 'bought him for the future' but with his social life like it is, who's to say he won't **** it up and not fulfill his potential?

Now I'm not saying that it was a brilliant idea to sell him and back when we did I was absolutely furious, but maybe it wasn't all bad after all...

  2. It all depends if we spend in the money well, otherwise it was a **** deal.

I know that's a ******ed view, but i think it all depends on who we buy with the money from Carroll.

Most of the games he didnt score in he was just coming back from a long term injury, he looked class against City and as much as I'd like him to **** up I cant help but think hes going to set the world alight at Liverpool, especially if they continue to spend and buy some wingers in the summer.

No doubt the fat man will pocket most of the transfer money and we'll end up being much worse off.

Hope I'm wrong but thats how I see it at the minute.

Agree with Tash, if we spend the money on some flops it would turn out to be another bad bit of business from the fat bastard...

Don't know if this has already been mentioned but according to Lee Ryder, France, Germany and Holland seem to be hot spots for the Toon scouting network

Knew about France but not the other two. No doubt he'll be looking at Twente in Holland after the Tiote steal <ok>

That would be quite a coup if we could find another Tiote!

    Here's hoping. <ok>

Not a ******ed view, my exact view too!

If we get decent players, Gervinho, Sow, Ba, etc I dunno, then it could work out a loads better deal for us. The sale of one player could potentially help strengthen our club in many other areas, as we can bring in a couple of potentially better players for less money.

We could easily come out on top in this.

Not ******ed in the slightest...I'd love a big(ish) name ala Gervinho, but even if we go smaller, like Tiote, relatively unknown players but with plenty of background work done by Carr and his team, and bring in 5/6 of them I think we could be in a stronger position than with Carroll. Let's be honest, when he was in our team he was great, but if he's injured or suspended we had £35m's worth of possible replacements in the stands!

He will be class for Liverpool though, I can't see it going any other way!

[EDIT: AH basically said everything I thought, whilst I was typing this]
