View attachment 18662 vs After our 4-1 defeat to Middlesbrough at the weekend we need to bounce back tonight and show we aren't relegation material. However it will be an enormously tough task as table topping Cardiff come to the Valley that being said Cardiff's away form is rather poor and out of their 28 points they have only taken 7 away from home which is one of the lowest totals in the league and at the weekend they lost their 4th away game of the season from a winning position as Bolton fought back to beat them 2-1 and claim all 3 points. However the more likely result to me is a draw and that is something I would definitely take before this game kicks off. We need to start taking points at home regardless of whether they are draws or wins and look to get ourselves clear of the relegation scrap.
Cheers, Belve. Quite incredible that our top scorers have only two goals, and BWP doesn't even have two. Looking at whatever our line-up is it's hard to see where the goals are coming from, so if we want 3 points the defense will have to improve 100% from Saturday.
I really fear for us tonight. I cant think about going in to work tomorrow if we lose with 2 Millwall and 1 Palarse fan at work. I hope CP has some kind of inspiration tonight and the team respond, however I fear that if we dont score first we could be in trouble.
I agree that is the team CP will start with, although he may or may not switch Kerkar and Jackson. I would have thought Fox would be a more useful sub than Harriott given that Jackson is a semi crock and Kerkar never lasts the last 20 minutes well. Hulse may also tire quickly after his efforts on Saturday so bringing on BWP and/or Haynes would require a change of style as well as of personnel. Finally, he might prefer Stephens to Holland. I wouldn't, but then I don't know why Hollands has been playing badly this season, fitness, attitude, or what.
Nice one. Insane optimism says fighting draw at 1-1. Stark realism says fighting loss at 2-1. I know I previously said I thought this would be the more straightforward (not easier) of the two games but that was before Saturday. COYR!
Dunkirk spirit, this is the Valley this is Charlton-- I expect a decent performance tonight. Who will be our hero?
Charlton: Hamer; Solly, Kerkar, Cort, Morrison; Dervite, Haynes, Jackson, Pritchard, Stephens; Hulse Subs: Button, Taylor, Fox, Hollands, Green, Wright-Phillips, Azeez No idea what the formation will be, good to see Fox and Azeez on the bench. Not that confident about tonight, but COYA!
But CP cannot have much intention of playing them (other than a brief cameo) because they played the whole of the u21 game last night. Very strange.
AHLL, so this time, they go 1-0 up and we fight back to win (but maybe not 4-1). Dunkirk spirit and ghosts of Carlisle etc.
