According to Wales online! they have also been linked with another Swans Target in Mexican Hector Moreno. I think they will maybe try and sign Alan tate too !1...<laugh>

An intresting move I must say but I cant see Caulker going there either on loan or permanent. His stock has risen since we put him on the football map and I don't see Caulker taking a chance with a relegation candidate like Cardiff. Caulkers next move needs to be to a solid prem team like a Everton or Liverpool, of course he is highly regarded at Spurs too so a move away would need to be something special, going to Cardiff isn't really is it ?

    Thoughts on Caulker?

Surely Cardiff are swimming out of their depth again ?

I'm not too sure what he thought when he joined us on loan , we were considered one of the relegation candidates then , but he's had another full year at PL level and I'n surprised the club didn't show further interest in him this year ,not because it's cardiff but he's a better player than battling at the lower end of the table. . He's proven himself and if he is available I'd be surprised if one of the bigger clubs didn't come in for him . Personally I'd love to see him back here and if Ash were to go then most definitely

I think loan to Cardiff would be a great move for him.

No other team in the prem is going to have the ball in their box as much as theirs, great practice for the lad. ;)

Before us he was only with bristol city in the championship, so we were his first premier taster. He proved himself here, is becomming more and more established with spurs.. I cant see him taking a step back 2 years imo. He would do well with a more established side.

We know he fits in with the team and he also likes it here. Loan or buy I'd take him like a shot. We could do with his height at the back too.

As swans m has mentioned we were his first Prem test, and he passed it with flying colours making him a desired player for many teams, its always been known that Spurs rate him highly but nobody really knew if he would hack it until he had a season here with us. Has plenty of rough edges but would be an awesome future signing for us if he fancied a return to S.Wales but I think his future is with bigger teams than us or Cardiff, though we do have our style of play as a major factor in any footballing centre half weighing up a move, something Cardiff don't have .

Keep this on ice, for it soon to be added to Cardiff Comedy Classics alongside their Ince and Capone signings :D
Fair play, they have been value for money this summer. Bloody comedy gold they are.

Watch this space for Alky McKay is interested in Messi / Bale.....

I do wonder if some of these potential signings are just there to encourage season ticket sales. VT isn't a daft bloke and being as he hasn't found his" team of Michu's" I wonder if they are doing the classic "fee agreed" and then offering tiny wages so that the player turns them down ? I believe Tom ince was agreed on wages but not sure on the other lot .

There has also been the fact that Cardiff never actually placed a bi for the Celtic player, turned out they were lying ! maybe this Caulker deal is the same thing ?

It's all a publicity stunt IMO to raise the clubs profile. I don't think he would go to Cardiff, there would be better options out there than Cardiff! I also wouldn't trust a thing that comes out of WOL or The club itself they just want the publicity and to keep the fans quiet. TBH it's all little club syndrome if you ask me

Your probably correct mate, seems a bit odd that Caulker is a target especially as he has admirers from further afield . They have been linked to many players we have been linked too but with no signing at the end of it. We get players because of our manager and style of play, other clubs have to pay the bigger wedges to secure signings instead, it remeans to be seen if Cardiff are going to spend big or not.

None of the teams coming up have so far made a big impression in the transfer markets, its early days yet I know and as it gets closer to the end of the window teams who have been 3rd or 4th choice destinations will be of intrest .

The red dragon fans must be wondering where the strength is going to come from in defence though.

NJ - No need to encourage st sales as they are sold out with a waiting list. Hence the need for the Ninian Stand upper tier with work starting early 2014.

So much of this is paper talk. Apart from Ince the only one where we have definitely bid is Capoue and I guess both his club and him are looking for more money and/or a bigger buying club.

He won't be interested in Cardiff, but Swansea on the otherhand? We could turn his head.

yay !! snagged one after only10 commets !!...<laugh>

BAN HIM ...BAN HIM NOW!! LOL :)

Ah I see paper talk is it,why do you brag about these players on your message boards then? being that its just paper talk ?

I do agree with you though Blue, nothing is happening until the guy is holding the shirt above his head outside Lego land , I was surprised when the papers mentioned Pablo,Michu, chico,Shelvey,Bony, amat, pouzuelo, canas,JDG,Ki sung ad shector but they were indeed correct, some where wrong but most were right .

Both clubs will have a log list of players that they will work through and more often than not a players agent will sneak some names out there to drum up business.

Do you think you will now be bigger than Barcelona now that sam is back to help forge ahead with making you theonl club in wales that has a chance of Prem league ?? :)

I think this Spurs fan upset a few of the Dragons on the corresponding thread over on the dark side!....<laugh>

"There is no way we'd let him go.
We currently only have 2 fit centre backs and, no offence meant, he deserves better than Cardiff - He is more of a top half player (Swansea, Everton, Newcastle etc) - whether you think you'll finish top half or not, you haven't yet, hence it wouldn't make sense for him to join you"

Ouch, that must have hurt them a little bit ...<laugh>

But I just think that Cardiff really do believe their own hype. Cardiff are not premier league yet IMO to really be a premier league club they must show that they can compete and survive the league and that is yet to be seen. And my opinion is that they are not bringing in a style of football that will be able to compete with their squad and just don't have the quality in depth IMO.
