now before you all jump down my throat, hear me out...as we are all aware welsh clubs that play in the english pyramid system are disqualified from european competition,so i would suggest (reluctantly)that it is in our interest for cardiff to make the carling final, with their opponents in all likely hood qualifying for the champions league through the premiership giving cardiff uefa cup qualification;this would thenforce the issue, bearing in mind we are currently top of the fair play league, which may also carry qualification, and of course theres the chance of an fa cup run for us(who knows).but what im saying with 2 welsh clubs qualifying, sureley we cant be ignored
I don't think they are disqualified anymore, think the issue got resolved when they were in the FA Cup Final and it was said they would be allowed as they are representatives of the English pyramid system. Perhaps one of the inevitable visiting bluebirds will clarify this.
Only the winners of the carling cup qualify for europe. If the winners have already qualified, the place goes to the highest placed unqualified team in the Prem. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_League_Cup
