Whoâs captain next year then? From the other thread where people are naming XIâs everyone is dropping Dawson, we have a lot of young lads so will it be Koren (even he isnât the most committed looking on the pitch and doesnât strike me as a leader)? Personally I think I would be tempted by Chester seems to be a real leader on the pitch with his feet and mouth and plays at centre back which I personally like as Cpt. Although is he too young? Very tough choice this season.
For me it has to be Paul McKenna, natural leader on the pitch and has captained previously. He's also in the middle of the pitch and can therefore communicate with all players from the back to the front.
McKenna will be captain and start most games for us. He has done the job well at Preston and Forest, I cant see it being anbody else.
McKenna is the obvious choice, I wonder if there might be some concern about him being a new signing and still being given the captaincy, but as he's the obvious candidate I think he'll get it regardless. If not, I'd be happy to see it go to Rosie, but I wouldn't consider anyone else.
Agreed this was my thinking behind things i have never seen Mckenna play so i couldnt personally choose him as my captain, however NP and the lads get a full preseason with him so they may very well go with him if he is a natural candidate
The thought of that pairing has made me find religion, I'm off to the church across the road, to pray it never happens.
Would you be that suprised? I wouldn't. I could see him doing this then sticking someone out of position on the wing, probably Evans and Koren. I hope this isn't the case, but it probably will be.
I can't see it, Evans and Koren are in a different class to Harper and I still think we'll see a winger come in, so I think he has to be dropped.
Do you not think Hobbs could be in with a shout now he's in full time? Could be a long term choice? It is however very hard to look beyond Mckenna
Didnt someone already say a while ago that Pearson has told Harper it will be him. trying to find the post.
There was a rumour doing the rounds that Harper would be captain for the coming season, it's such a bad idea, that I'm discounting it completely.
McKenna sounds like the type, but is it wise considering he is a new addition and we haven't seen him play as a Hull City player yet? However, it is a pretty new team anyway. No real long-term players that are looking like being regular starters next season anyway. I'd put it down to Rosenior or McKenna.
