Is absolutely fine and dandy after his truncated day out at Cheltenham. He has since been scoped and thoroughly examined and was found to have a very small tear in a capiliary in his nasal passage. In human terms what he actually did that day was to sneeze too hard in the paddock and give himself a very minor nose bleed. In retrospect he could have actually run that day without the slightest inconvenience. All very annoying for the many of us who thought him to be the handicap good thing of the meeting.
Ultimately his Cheltenham target had been decided a week before after a meeting between McCoy and McManus, the yard was not it seems in this consultation process. The pair must have believed that others were better suited to targets that we thought would have suited him better. The results dont bear this out and had he run on any other day he may not have had his paddock mishap.
Webber is absolutely convinced that although he has won on heavy going he is a much better horse on better ground. It could be a blessing in disguise then that he missed Cheltenham and surely an Aintree handicap beckons.
Two horses from the yard for your notebooks that are expected to step up markedly from their debuts; BAYLEY'S DREAM and HONOUR A PROMISE. An unraced on to keep an eye out for is THISGUNSFORHIRE. I expect the yard to finish the season very strongly!

Now there's a race where time figures won't help. Getting on for a minute slower than standard. Trying to adjust any time figures for standing still for about 30secs must be tricky. Even allowing for 30 secs the time was very slow compared to other races on the same card. I know times are very unreliable for NH races but they do tell you the time in which a horse can actually get from A to B rather than guessing that it can.

The problem with this race is that it doesn't tell us anything about any of the horses so there could be quite a few that can be expected to improve significantly next time out. The most interesting fact would be how the horse compares with others at home. If there is a horse at home that would leave this lot standing .................................. etc.

Good luck if you are on. I'll be in England so I might have a little ew if it's a good price. I'm a non better so it would only be £1 ew for holiday fun.
