    LOVELY Rebecca Mason will fly the flag for the city after bringing home the Miss Sunderland crown.

    The 19-year-old, from High Grindon, was awarded the title after a hotly-fought contest at Rainton Meadows Arena.

    As well as taking part in various charity and fashion events as part of her new role, she will strut her stuff for Sunderland in next year’s Miss England contest.

    Rebecca, who runs her own clothing business Her Majesty’s Vintage Clothing, said: “It just didn’t feel real when they called my name as the winner. It still hasn’t sunk in.
