I have had enough of hearing about how fantastic Spursâ transfer window has been! You know what? **** Spurs! Every morning I wake up and check the sports news, and because of my different time zone, the dayâs transfers are well under way by the time I am eating my sh*te Canadian-equivalent shreddies, and every sodding day I have to read how great Spurs have been in the market. Since when did spurs get a march on Liverpool for decent players? Well probably when Hicks and Gillett bent us over, but now we are stable why in godâs name arenât we getting more players in?! There are several threads on here discussing which positions need filling, or what tactics we can play with the available players or the quiet optimism building since last January. But lets be honest. We need to buy at least 3 more players, I would say 4 minimum. And we are losing time and the initiative. Its my belief LFC have been scarred by the Carroll/Downing debacle. Our scouting department are now too cautious for fear of landing another £35m flop. But we need players, and they are going to be expensive so get over it. If a defender costs £15m, buy him! We need a defence not cash. Lets learn the real lesson from Kennyâs spending; We are going to get fleeced, accept it, but just make sure we donât get fleeced too badly. Maybe we pay £3-4m too much for someone but we at least we get cover in. Itâs a fact other teams have seemed to grasp, albeit probably at Liverpoolâs expense. The market has gone crazy so we need to splash out, so why arent we doing it?! we have the money apparently! In my opinion, ironically, I think once he is match fit, Carroll will have a corker of a season for the hammers!
Fleeced! you mean like with Sturridge, Coutinho and Toure. TBH I think i'm happier with us doing the fleecing thank you very much, or maybe we could buy AC back from westham for 30m just for cover incase we get an injury!
Sturridge, Coutinho and Toure... and thats it. literally. But lets break down your retort; Toure - instant success, but is now injured. The replacement with no replacement. Coutinho - amazing vision but small shoulders to rest an entire season's hope on. Sturridge - excellent, no faults. so far... and then the rest? the rest of our bargains, that would walk into top 4 clubs?
Ok I will go on! Mignolet worth at least 4 points in 2 games this season Aspas goals and assists in pre-season, good back up for Danny and luis. So lets have It who in our starting 11 wouldn't get into the top PL teams?
aspas looks lost, lucas looks tired, gerrard looks old, hendo looks good but needs to start scoring (in the prem), allen please! agger is injury prone. johnson is better than enrique at getting forward, but is worse at tracking back. But im in a bad mood. So I would still be happy with our team with new CB and a new Midfielder like the one we were meant to get from Anzhi. But even with this minimum of 2 new 1st teamers, can you really see us beating the teams above us, home and away? We struggled with Notts County FFS, and I watched us struggle against Celtic's youngsters preseason. I can guarantee if that penat hadnt been saved against stoke there would be a lot more fans on here in a bad mood.
Didn't really answer my question unless you are saying Gerrard, Lucas, Johnson and Enrique wouldn't get in another top team? I don't understand why people get pissed when we don't sign a so called marque signing in the transfer window as long as we strengthen which we have done then i'm happy. 3 wins out of 3 and your saying we are ****?
After our 3 performances, regardless of the results*, I think we still need signings. If you don't then we have been watching different matches. *we lucked out against stoke, hung on against villa, and in normal time drew against notts county. Lol
City lost to Cardiff so they probably need a whole new team!!! We actually played well for large parts of all those games, and showed determination to come away with the wins. Lets not forget that its the beginning of the season things aren't going to be perfect right away! I would also point out that both stoke and Villas won their the other of their opening 2 games

Harsh but generally fair. We are about 4 players short of being really decent. We are okay at the moment. Suarez would get in any of the top 4. Coutinho would at Arsenal and maybe United. Minollet would at Arsenal. We are still a way off. Its a squad game now and were miles off that despite our first team being okay.
