Hi Argyle fans, Devon based Saints fan here. First things first, congratulations on staving of liquidation. Genuinely not wumming but I guess being somewhat provocative. I usually go to Home Park maybe two or three times each season and in contrast to you fans and the general atmosphere, am always disappointed how dull the venue is.

I guess it doesn't help playing in green and nobody would expect you to pass up that particular tradition but all the other grounds I visit seem more vibrant that HP. Just wondered if you agree....possibly you prefer it that way...but interested in your own observations.

    Cheers

    Milton

First of all - HOW DARE YOU :emoticon-0146-punch
    (LOL - just kidding!)

It depends on how the team perform milton. Some sections of the ground are louder than others but if the team are playing badly then it is quiet I grant you.

In the last three seasons we have not had much to shout about either to be fair, in addition to losing a third of supporters (the "fair weathers"). So Home Park has become a little muted. Hopefully the next time you attend we will have more supporters embracing the "New Era" (not going to use "new world") who will flock to the gates.

Clearly hasn't been to many league 2 clubs grounds then. It wasn't that long ago that Southamton supporters were manking on about all things saints. Manager, players, owners. Think that coincided with a period in the doldrums yourselves. Fact is that southampton have always had a larger crowd than we have at Home Park. Given two relegations, a seasons worth of Administration and being bottom of the 92 it is a little surprising that anyone turns up still. Take that as part of the problems and maybe we are happier than should be expected. You also can't sing with a mouth full of pasty.

Thanks Hobo ,, I appreciate what you say and I really do hope that the better times and crowds return...but I really meant the dull stadium decor etc. When I go to St mary's the contrast of the emerald green pitch with the red seating, the supporters in red and white and the thrill of seeing two teams in bright kit is brilliant. I'm and old man now but I still thrill at the excitement of it all...but HP is dull, all grey and green, as droopy as Pilgrim Petes moustache. As I say I've no great idea how you can brighten the place up...maybe some cheerleaders or something but do you see what I mean?...and if you do can you think of any inexpensive ideas to improve it.

No offence if you disagree its just an opinion of mine...and well done you hard-core fans who do turn up...total admiration for you

We are a bit skint so could anyone supply us with a few tins of paint then. Any colour will do as long as it's free.

Ah ha now I see milton.

As sensible says a bit of paint wouldn't go amiss. After we were promoted to the Championship the decoration of the stadium seemed to halt. I imagine any decor ideas would need to go to the council for approval first now anyway as it is now their land.

We are the green army. The ground is green. What other colour would it be? It looks drab because one side of the ground is more or less empty and until that is finished then it will continue to look drab. But, as a token and to respond to the criticism (helpfully put) I will wear my pink boxers and a carnation on Saturday. That should fix it up a treat and if everyone else could follow suit it might take a bit of the flack off Brighton. In the nicest possible way of course.

Love the green , it's not dull it different. Too many clubs adopt the red or blue you could be any one of a dozen or more clubs wearthing those colours but we are unique, we are the GREEN ARMY

Agree about the stadium though it needs brightening up with some white and maybe some lighter green to contrast with and brighten up the dark (as in my son's bedroom lol) but much more important it the place needs to fully open, fill up and the Mayflower needs doing. All in good time as my mum would say
