Anyone else fed up of comments made in the press by coleman about our players, first it was michu saying he can play for a big club and today its Ash who can play for a top 4 club......He must think we are stupid or something as every man and his dog knows how good some of our players are. he should but out and and come to realize we are a top half premiership team and the only difference is bigger clubs can pay bigger wages. we have beaten the best of the best so what is wrong with saying they should stay with us instead of suggesting they should play for the big 4....he makes me sick every time he writes something as he has got to make a comment about our players.....
Coleman is jealous because this team is better than any he used to play in. As a Jack he should know to keep his mouth shut
He still thinks of the Swans as being in the third division. Fortunately we have all moved on - but his views of the Club are looking outdated
as Wales Manager he should not be discussing clubs's players in this way. his public opinions should be restricted to players in the role of international players and with respect to official Wales business. ... prick
The guy is a halfwit, always got to comment on our players 'moving to bigger clubs', yet we have this prick in charge of Wales?................
I can't imagine the likes of Wenger, SAF and the like saying "thank God for Coleman", without him we have never have looked at any Swansea players without his ability to spot a talented player .Do you think that what Coleman says has any influence either way on which players are targeted ,the Club and players are in the spotlight some people like to hear the sound of their own voice and he was probably asked a question from some hack looking for a story.
This man is epitome of Captain Obvious, I doubt any manager will be influenced by his words and they will already have known if they were going to make these players a target for purchase.
Coleman is a ****ing clown. It has been said by all of you that the guy needs to keep his cake hole shut. Best he concentrates on his own job, which by the way he isnt doing very well.
Whilst I agree a little with the general feeling here, it's more of an issue with the Sports "news" Chris Coleman is (unfortunately) the highest profile Swansea-linked guy out there, he's trying to build goodwill amongst journalists (sensibly as, he's not exactly the most popular Wales manager ever) and so always give quotes and soundbites. The problem is journalists always asking him stupid questions and then his quotes getting posted all the time, it's not as if he's holding press-conferences about Swansea every week. I do think his advisers/agent should have a word about him learning to avoid commenting on our club all the time though.
He's part of a cumulative push from the media - the simple(minded) idea: you're good, move to a more expensively assembled team. I saw more expensive because they would still argue that a player should go to Newcastle or Villa rather than us. They'll say "this is the real world" and see money as equating to ambition etc but it's nonsense spread by people who don't know the game. I'm a teacher - if the class is failing, do I say we need to bring in better students? No, I review how I am teaching and what Iam trying to get the students to do. It's such a lazy approach to just always think about replacing to improve. If Laudrup had thought that way, then he would have been one of those managers who would move a player like Routs on without giving him a chance. Coleman is just a prime example of lazy footbal pundits/managers who don't understand (or want to put the dedication in to understand) coaching or analysis and so just recycle the same easy quote. It does annoy me because their laziness equates to a social pressure where players feel they wopuld be stupid to stay when the opposite is true. They don't think about the impact that constantly hearing this has.
