Sign him up and let Leadbitter go to Pompey, ideal situation for us.

    Can he play centre-half?

I can see Jimmy not being involved in Football for a while if he plans to appeal due to legal issues.

I think he would have a very strong case. Unlike JWM I don't think there's anything wrong with him trying to get his money - we are talking millions involved here which will affect the rest of his life.

I wonder if Hull are almost calling his bluff here, If you think about it Jimmy has got 2 years at the most left, If one of those years is taken up in a lengthy court battle that he might not win, thats means he has one year left and his bargaining power for a finally big pay day has taken a huge knock.

QPR are hot favourites to sign him anyhow.

I don't think we are in any position to be promoted this season so I think signing him would be a waste of money. Apart from addressing the CB crisis we'd do better to sign players who can be around for at least a few seasons.

I still think if we don't have to break the bank he would be a great signing for us, make no bones about it, if we signed him he would be our most influential player at the club. He is head and shoulders above any of the rest of the midfielders at the club. I would still like to keep Leadbitter though, I still think he is a decent player and our only central midfielder under 30!!!

And guru I'm geussing that it will not matter how long the court case is I geuss its just taken from the time his contract was terminated.

If i'm being prefectly honest i applaud Hull in doing this, Yes they agreed the contract and his wages but how many times have we seen a player throw a strop when they want out of a contract. The current system is so much in the favour of the player it is unreal.

Itfcptc, I was thinking that in the case curbishley he couldn't take another job for about 2 1/2 years after west ham gave him the elbow so surely a player if he appeals cannot sign for another club or he for goes his wage earning rights.

Hi guys, take it from me you would regret signing Bullard, we (the Tigers) were told about him by the Fulham fans about his antics and we thought it was sour grapes, they were right and we learnt the hard way, paid millions for this waster, forget last season when it matters he won't help you and he is a horrific influence on the young players. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Hi Guys, Pompey Fan In Peace <ok>

After taking your former captain, David Norris, I would welcome Grant Leadbitter to Fratton Park- as would all the other Pompey not606 members as proved on a recent thread on our board- both are top- quality midfielders. One of your Ipswich members warned us on our board however that Norris and Leadbitter are the Gerrard/Lampard of the Championship- great individuals, but simply cannot work together !!

All the best for the coming Season !! <ok>

QPR will look at better players now i think. agree that he is well within his right to get all the money he was promised when he signed his initial contract.

<laugh> Neither are top quality midfielders. Norris weighed in with a lot of goals last season but essentially he's a headless chicken.

On his day Leadbitter can spray passes about but more often that not he sprays them to the opposition. He frequently gives the ball away in dangerous areas and doesn't cover himself - was at fault for one of the early Southampton goals on Tuesday night. He is also the worst set-piece taker in the history of football.

To say that Cotteril hasn't exactly endeared himself to the Town fans with his hypocritical comments this week would be an understatement. Well - unless you're a glory hunter you can't choose who you support I guess - so good luck to you. <ok>
