a draw was a decent result for us. Sam will get CP away but Watford could deffo drop into relegation position. They are sh*te.
For some reason I thought Watford played nice football but then I watched them play us and they were bloody awful, same again today. I know they've got a few points on us but I can see them being down there before long.
That's only because Benitez often starts a hobbit at RB, leaving Yedlin on the bench. Seriously, it's hard to believe that Liverpool are less dependent upon Courtinho than NUFC are on Shelvey.
He's the tip of the American sword. World class speed and and a motor to go with it - How far will it take him? It's a compelling journey to follow. Hopin' he doesn't step on his dick like Bradley did.
Yedlin is so very average mate. Great athlete but not much of a footballer and can't even get a game for a Championship side. Championship is probably superior to the MLS as well so doesn't say much about him.
Yedlin looked a decent player for us at the end of last season, an important, but often overlooked part of the Big Sam success story, and it was only down to Levi Greed that he is not still here, he and PVA made a good fist of the wing-back system imo.
Defence (maybe) and midfield (surely) are better in the Championship, but the MLS is a pacey attacking league, well paid $DP's make up the front line for most MLS squads. I think a slow team like Burnley would not be able to compete in the MLS.
Beg to differ completely. Someone like Bradley Wright Phillips is making a killing over there and he couldn't get much of a game in the Championship/League 1. Other players go there for a payday when they're in their 30's. Also I wouldn't say Burnley are much of a slow team. They don't have a great amount of quality but more than make up in hard work and play on the counter attack.
You could be right. I followed the Seattle Sounders closely for a couple of years, when Dempsey went there, but other than that, I've had absolutely no interest in the MLS. I've only been to see one Chicago Fire game - and that was to see Spurs in a preseason friendly. Haway the lads!
Championship players playing like they think they belong in the PL. When we do get promoted (Id like to think we will!) most of that team will not feature. This squad is weaker than the one we had in our last stint down there. The amount we will need to spend would rival the top 4. We won't spend that . As for Yedlin, I think he is a decent full back but nothing to write home about. Pacey and direct. It will work in the piss ant league that is the Championship but will be found out in the PL
Marcus Alonso did well when he was here, but thought Chelsea had paid over the odds when they signed him. But at this stage of the season he is beginning to look a real bargain, and odds on to end up with a Premiership winners medal, I hope he does. He seems to have only good memories of his time up here and unlike some seems not to have forgotten it. The Chelsea system of a back three and wing-backs certainly suits his game with Marcus, David Louise and Remi Moses in particular playing their best ever football, it has its critics and like all systems is not perfect, but crucially it suits their playing staff, and might also suit ours in the next few weeks, who knows.
