That can be very true for bigger yachts, especially wooden ones, and £50 notes too! But we enjoy pottering and in fair weather, in a small sailing boat. Keeps us fit too, as my days of playing footie are well and truly over!

My nephew is very keen on sailing Gaffer. I got a dog (not a boat) & took him with me whenever I went fishing, quite happy to sit & watch me not catch anything all day!

If Norwich in a parallel universe hadn't beaten Ipswich in 14 years do you think the game would be more important to the team that hasn't won since 2009 or the team that usually wins ?

I actually feel pity for Ipswich & hope you go up this season , we have done it tons of times since Ipswich got relegated .

I may have to rethink it , lots of irrational hatred displayed last Saturday from some of your fans .

Attacking Delia's car , wow very brave .

Yes, very brave like the Norwich fans who kicked me when I was walking from the station to the ground with my nephew (although he’s 16, very small for his age). Used to think ours was a decent derby - plenty of banter as it should be but no real agro. Not any more

I think not losing the game meant as much to you as winning would have done to us given the way you were celebrating at the end (understandably so given the Season we are both having). There are hateful individuals on both sides but no excuse for what happened to Delia but you have to question the timing of her arrival.

The Pink’Un is embarrassing. I think they must have 12 year olds write it.

The fourteen years thing - it might go on for forty years of us being a division above them - they are only setting themselves up for more ridicule with that.

As for Delia, it was hardly an ‘attack’. It was moronic for them to drive through the hostile Ipswich crowd rather than taking the police escort.

There is a fair amount of good will from Norwich fans that would like to see Ipswich get promoted.

Over a decade in the Championship without a chance of promotion & a League one promotion & the arrogance is on show.

There's enough time to choke autos drop into the top 6 & get knocked out by ****ty little Norwich

Don't count those chickens yet folks .

We were **** all through the Evans era but these are now different times. Even then, Norwich’s highest finish in the last decade is 18th and relegation. If you want to go back a little bit further, we’ve got closer to silverware with our semi final against Arsenal. If either club needs sympathy, it’s not us.

We won the play off final & Championship a few times recently, I'm sure winning the Championship is just a Mickey mouse trophy now ?

Ipswich haven't achieved anything yet other than a good start to the season .

2 titles under Farke ,a 2nd under Lambert & a mid table finish promotion through play offs under Neal, Houghton survived a season .

    Can't grumble

Ffs, what is that budgie moron waffling on about?? If you want to talk history, we are more than happy, it got boring always being the dominant force in East Anglia, so we let you have a little taste of it but now it's time to relinquish that and let normal service resume!!
Oh and as for that stupid cow having things thrown at her car....you reap what you sow, what fool would drive through a raucous opposition crowd, one with not many brain cells I'm guessing!!

It's difficult to work out who is on the wind up here and who isn't.

In terms of the Ipswich vs Norwich debate - historically, Ipswich is the bigger club of the two (more trophies, higher profile managers who went on to manage England etc.). That's not debatable. However, if you were to base it off the last 20 years or 'recent success', then Norwich is obviously the bigger club and have been much more successful than us (several seasons in the Premier League, couple of Championship titles etc.) That's also not debatable.

With regards to supporter behaviour, I think the majority of Ipswich and Norwich fans are well behaved and wouldn't act like idiots if they met in person day-to-day. The derby day will bring out the worst in some people getting drunk or looking for attention. Social media brings out the worst in some younger supporters, who seem to act how they think they should act in a local derby. It'll be the same up at Norwich too.

I don't condone lobbing objects and crowding/hitting an 82-year-old woman's car when she's travelling to a match. However, whoever's decision it was to follow the Ipswich Town player bus needs firing. I'm not sure what reception they were expecting. I don't think it's beyond the realms of improbability to suggest that it's something Delia approved, knowing the headlines that would happen.

I would be equally disgusted if the ginger musician got his car attacked & abused personally, can't really brand all Ipswich fans as yobbish morons but it would be better to call out the morons hurling beer cans at her car .
Ipswich are playing well but you haven't achieved anything yet .
I can see Leeds pushing for top 2 with Farke he's used to getting out of this league.

Unfortunately, Duncan is absolutely right. We've "achieved" a fantastic start to the season, but it will all soon be forgotten if we end up in the play offs and lose them.
I am not a local boy, and have no affiliation to the area, so, to me, Norwich are just another team. I couldn't give a sh!t if they beat us 10-0 up at their place, if we still get promoted. So we haven't beaten them in 14 years....we haven't beaten Colchester in 15 years LOL.

I'd say had the more "success" over the past 20 years is stretching it a bit probably from 2011ish onwards. As in the 8 years before that we played in Europe continuing our unbeaten home record (the only one in the UK) and even a decent cup run in 2011 (the last time Norwich got to a cup semi final was 1988).

I'd say the term success is also stretching it with 4 relegations since 2011. They've been better than us in terms of league position and a slightly higher attendance plus their unbeaten record against us (alot of teams have) but if their measure of success is being better than us during one of the worst periods of our history....good on our plucky neighbours. Coincidentally Man City haven't beaten us in the league for 24 years.

Probably the only time I was envious of our neighbours was under Lambert they were a pretty exciting team then and we had the Dark Lord other than that it's more been because of how bad we were rather than being jealous by the "exciting" times up the road.

I'm young enough by quite a long way not to have been around to witness our best times as a club (league win, FA Cup, Uefa Cup) however I have seen us finish 5th in the PL, play in Europe (beating Inter Milan and maintaining our unbeaten home record) and get to a semi final in a cup competition all of which any Norwich fan of my age or similar won't have witnessed any of those things and you know what I wouldn't swap that for their past 12 years of "success"!!

Putting myself in a Norwich supporters shoes I don't think I'd look back and say remember those days when we got higher attendances than Ipswich or remember when we were relegated from the PL 4 times whilst Ipswich were in the Championship or League 1...those were the glory days <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>
