This. He never takes responsibility for the last 9 months of utter ****e but always wants the adulation for that totally fluked 10th place.

I can't wait to see the back of this excuse laden b&w ****er and hopefully the appointment of a manager that might deliver on his words.

STEVE BRUCE has dismissed fears that the dynamics in the boardroom at the Stadium of Light have altered significantly by insisting former chairman Niall Quinn remains at the hub of football matters.

Quinn's decision to move aside and head up the club's international development programme 12 days ago stunned Wearside, with Bruce's own job security under the new chairmanship of owner Ellis Short something that looked under greater threat.

However, speaking for the first time yesterday about the decision after returning from a commercial trip to South Korea, Bruce rubbished any notion that things have changed dramatically.

The Sunderland manager has still been told to discuss potential player recruits with Quinn before eventually turning to Short to receive the final decision over whether a deal can be pursued.

SNQ is still a man with a lot of power in the club.

<laugh> **** me have you ever seen the Wear??!! Definitely not the greatest river in the christian world. Although it may win some awards for the largest number of trolleys, needles, plastic bags and parasitic diseases in it.

To the original question I bet if you lose to Arsenal today you can all guess what he will say in his interview. He will deflect all responsibility, decisions went against us, we've had a difficult start etc. However if you win it will all be down to his brilliant tactics and buys in the summer.

In terms of cleaniness the Wear is quite representative of medium sized rivers in northern England, Scotland and Wales, if not cleaner than most. It only tends to be smaller rivers that enjoy notable levels of cleanliness, while larger ones are more polluted as a rule, due to sustaining larger populations and industrial activitiy.

As for Bruce, he's ours to call not yours so **** off and shove that up your ring piece for an afternoons entertainment.

I sense a derail. While the River Wear has been highlighted by the Environment Agency for improvements, I do believe the River Blyth has a low fertiliser and oil content, and while there were reports of traces of industrial waste during a period of the 80s, the Water Resources Act of 1991 brought forth a new era in the eradication of contiminated rivers. However the EA spoke of the Wear as follows: In 1965 just two salmon were caught on the then-polluted River Wear which contrasts with 2010 when 1,531 were caught - the best every salmon rod catches ever recorded for the river.

The transformation of the river has been achieved thanks to habitat improvement projects, tighter regulation of polluting industries and work with farms and businesses to reduce pollution and improve water quality.

Then that explains it. You have been taken by the devil at birth and corrupted beyond all human decency to be a dirty craa, therefore everything you say is invalidated from this point onwards.

PS- I couldn't give a rats arse if its on your board or not.

Yep. My Dads a Mackem but decided to support Newcastle at a young age just to annoy his Dad and brother. I'd rather be a 'dirty craa' it just makes my point more valid. The Wear can get pretty mank end of (although its not as bad as the Tees). <laugh><ok>

Mignolet, O'Shea, Turner, Brown, Richardson, Elmohamady, Vaughan, Colback, Cattermole, Larsson, Sessegnon

Looks like Bruce is playing without a striker again. Surely this must be it for 5under1and fans now, I know I'd be pissed off if we started with 3 defenders and 7 midfielders and we actually like our manager!

I almost feel sorry for you.

Why has he bought Whickham for £9million (?) brought in Ji, Bentdner etc only to play Sessegnon up front? <doh> He is such a moron.

Bentdner can't play against Arsenal, but it beats me why anyone would buy players to not play them. Especially a player as gifted and expensive as Wickham. Does Bruce think they'll do any less?

    SO CLOSE!!!!

Dream Boat- It is far too simplistic (and totally incorrect) to say the state of a river governed by its appearance. As Skalpel hinted at, it is the flora and fauna that can be sustained that indicate the true health.

I can't say for all rivers in the NE, but they are in much greater state these days and are amongst some of the best in the UK. Yes, even the Tees, which I believe is home to a thriving seal colony.
