I will not be at the game on Saturday, despite watching the toon for over 50 years. I have decided to vote with my feet and money. I have seen some rubbish over the years, and players who should have never worn the shirt. We have had poor managers but never have we had one who is so out of touch with the fans. The owner totally ignores our feelings or concerns. For me enough is enough i hope the protest goes off peacefully and attracts massive publicity. We won't get rid of the owner but hopefully even Pardew will realise there will never be forgiveness for what we have had to endure. Haway the lads.
Each to their own. Its "Howay the Lads". "Haway the lads" is the mackem version.......... Got more respect for you staying away rather than coming to create a poisonous atmosphere and spoil the game for others.
I have always supported the team, even when we have been really crap. The poisonous atmosphere will be created by Pardew and Ashley by not respecting the wishes of the supporters. IE Pardew resign or Ashley sack him. The only way people can vent their spleen is in the stadium. As i said you can shout and make your point known, but without personal attacks and by not breaking the law, as has been recommended by the sackpardew.com people.
I don't mind that but it is simply not fair imposing your will on everyone. Before the game, fine. After the game, fine. During the game when some just want to support the team regardless of manager and regime knowing that it does not have any influence, not fine. Its just disrespectful to fellow supporters.
I agree. If there is to be a protest then do it after the game and not before or during. People protesting after the game and staying to protest after the game would have got greater publicity than during the game IMO. It would show the fans support the team and Club but not the owner or manager.
If it was one person ranting like a loony, people beside you would tell you to shut up. As i have in the past when people were racially abusing players. As at Cardiff last season i think there will be a large section of the support voicing their opinion. No one near me was involved in any arguments that day, some walked other others stayed, as i did. So i don't see how you can say it is disrespectful to other supporters. This is a democracy and everyone is entitled to their opinion. As i originally stated, i am voting with my feet, as i believe whatever we do as supporters will not change Ashley's mind. I would never come on here and say you must all walk out. I am not the only one, guys who i have gone to the match with for years no longer go, not because we don't still love Newcastle United. It is the only thing we can do Mike Ashley is only concerned about bottom line profit. Not winning a cup, not winning the league 10th-12th he is happy because the money keeps rolling in.
Exactly it is a democracy. Why should I and other supporters who have paid good money, see our team hindered by fans protesting throughout the game. I'm all for them having the freedom to voice their opinion before or after the game. That is only fair and right. I don't support this regime, I don't support this manager, but I still want my team to win every game they play. Why should I have to see other supporters hinder the team by protesting needlessly throughout the game? Why would it be such a problem for them to do it before and after? It doesn't have any extra impact to Pardew or Ashley during the game, so why do it. That would say to me the sole objective is to see the team lose in the vain hope a defeat sees him sacked. Basically not supporting the team. I'm not on about fans ranting like a loony or crossing lines of acceptable behaviour. That should always be dealt with. Protest in peace, but at least respect the other fans right to support the team by protesting at an appropriate time.
