Ward has confirmed Fabian Broghammer is making good progress in his bid to return from the knee injury that has kept him out all season. Hammer, who ruptured knee ligaments in pre season back last July, is rapidly closing in on a return to action.

    Ward said:

"Fabian is continuing his recovery up at the St George's Park facility this week. That is usually a sign that a player is close to making a return as we have had a number of other players in the same position over the last few months. He did all of the warm up sessions with the rest of the group in training last week and when he returns from St George's we're hopeful we may be able to start easing him back into some more vigorous training. Everything has been very positive with his recovery and if things continue in the same manner we should get some football in for him before the end of the season. Fabian is a professional person and a very intelligent young man, who understood and accepted the injury situation he found himself in last summer. Phil Kite is well versed in the recovery periods from these sorts of injuries because we have certainly had a few of them over the last 12 months or so. He knows how to look after the players, both from a physical and a mental point of view, and we have allowed Fabian to go home to Germany a couple of times since last summer."
