Putin has also routinely moved troops to the border in 'exercises' so the west are hoping they can show strength when/if they follow the normal pattern and withdraw. Putin's more liable to think '**** you' and just leave them there.

 

You would think Ursula von der Leyen and her EUROPEAN UNION army would steer well clear of the Russian border.

I don't think most EUROPEAN UNION states have the stomach for it .

 

The West have managed to make allies of China and Russia, so they're up against a considerably wealthy and well resourced opponent.

To let it develop to this point is a massive political failing.

Saying that, there's a fair body of articles claiming that most of it is media/government stoked bullshit, which if true, is an even more dangerous game. The Russians and Chinese play by their own rules.
