But Callum O'Dowda and Joel Ekstrand have recovered from illness and keeper Frankie Fielding (groin) should be fit. Brighton winger Solly March could be included in the squad after over a year out with a serious knee injury. Chris Hughton's side have won seven of their last nine games in an unbeaten run in the Championship which stretches back to 13 September. Defender Liam Rosenior and midfielder Beram Kayal (both ankle) are sidelined, but Kazenga LuaLua (knee) is edging closer to a first-team return. Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson told BBC Radio Bristol: "It is an important game for us. Brighton are a really good marker for us. "They are probably a year ahead of us in far of their strength in depth. The challenge to the players is, can we fast-track that? "It is going to be a top game and will be a good one for the neutral, both teams in decent form, going for the prize of three points." Analysis BBC Sussex's Johnny Cantor: "Albion will know the 5-0 demolition of Norwich last weekend will count for nothing unless they back it up with some kind of result at Ashton Gate. "Chris Hughton's side have now kept 10 clean sheets in the Championship and have not conceded in the last three games. "Glenn Murray's hat-trick against the Canaries took his goal tally to nine this season, but none have come away from the Amex. "The Seagulls went 21 games unbeaten at the start of last season but have the same number of points (31) after 15 matches of the new campaign, despite having lost twice." Match facts Bristol City's only goalscorer in their last seven league games against Brighton at Ashton Gate was Scott Brown in September 2006. The Seagulls have won five of their last six league games against the Robins, drawing the other. 83% of the Robins' league goals this season (19 of 23) have been scored in the second half, the highest percentage in the division. Brighton have only lost one of their last 14 away league games (excluding play offs), winning eight and drawing five. Albion's Glenn Murray has scored in two of his previous three league appearances against Bristol City. Junior came across very well in pre-match interview. He's got me right up for this. Ps R&W, been Racing so in my bedroom window.
Goals change games and so it was tonight. If Tomlin had scored it would have been a totally different game - he didn't and they score one from halfway and a deflected second. Against a top Championship side I'm afraid it was game over. Junior got it spot on after the game.
Do we not practice crossing or shooting? Some very basic errors been evident the last few games. I think we need 3/4 experienced players in January and maybe the same number leaving or farmed out on loan. The single worrying thing is we try something it does not work, so we keep on doing it. Tomlin needs to stop diving as referees have got his number. I do not think Brighton ever got out of first gear.
Today we were ****e, last time I've seen us this ****e was against Brighton last year. And I was pissed off with those Brighton fans who decided to ruin the minutes silence.
That was gutless and pathetic. Men against Boys. My first big dig LJ your one up top ain't working. Remind when did we last win a game. Little aint championship, every team goes at him. I hope you ain't stubborn, what the hell is wrong with playing your 2.5 million striker who looked very good when you did play him. Tonight was poor, needs addressing big time. You need a new goalkeeper, new right back, two strikers. Rant over
Tomlin and Paterson were good but otherwise we were poor. Hardly strung 2 passes together and gave away possession regularly
It showed Little isn't a championship player, Joe showed how inconsistent he is and was dreadful, Magnusson a good defender but distribution enough said, a poor show tonight.
Just watched it delayed here in Oz, yet again a disappointing performance when live on TV. We showed a lack of quality and experience tonight. What the hell was O' Donnell doing on the edge of the D when the ball is on the halfway line, beyond stupid!! Little, Smith and O'Neil were very poor as well, and Joe Bryan was inconsistent yet again, although to be fair to him he is played in a different position every other game so it must be hard. We offered nothing in an attacking space after that 3rd minute chance for Tommo. Brighton showed what it takes to be in the top places this season, we caught a very good side on top of their game, so no need to be too dispondant.
Brighton deserved the win (I managed to see the second half). But we should have had a penalty. Great goal for their first but the second was scrappy. On another day with a fair wind and all that it could have been 1-1. Anyone think our movement off the ball was shocking? (Nonexistent)?
That was embarrassing that was even hearing some City fans behind me telling them to **** off , I'm surprised the Brighton fans were allowed to get so close to the City fans, thought it was going to kick off, but I did see one muppet in the City end jump over and have a little fight with the Brighton fans before retreating back and escaped the stewards
Very poor display and it showed the enormous gulf between genuine promotion contenders and ourselves. We are about as far away from Brightons level as it's possible to be at the moment within the same division. It could have been a different story had Tomlin scored early on. Little - frankly awful - again Smith - What the *uck were you thinking of man ? But we are a work in progress so this isn't really news and I expected the result, if not the spineless performance. Must try harder !
