I thought it said HCC would look into a place to site it? As I understood it, *private investors are being lined up to carry the cost of bringing it home. *Unless the Gov't can be convinced it's a piece of National value.
It doesnt seem particularly historic. Surely there's another trawler that could be brought here cheaper than this.
Loads of these steam trawlers were requisitions during WW1, but this is the only remaining one and as it was built in Beverley and originally operated as a trawler out of Hull, here seems the obvious place to put it on display. It really is a bit ****ed though... please log in to view this image
I know Rob Robinson (Dr) and this repatriation has been his pet project for some time, I think the ships bell was brought home some time ago. If it ever comes off and is brought back, restored ect and then docked in the Marina, they should also find a berth for the Artic Corsair because its present berth gives it no public exposure much at all.
