So Bristol City, a game as a Bristol resident I have no choice but to attend! I'm going to Toto's ( bar in Bristol ) as part of the south west supporters club where Tony has a block booking of over 50 of us, and we have a bit of a do set up if anyone would like to join us from 12 o clock - "Very pleased to confirm we have Ian Milne, Peter Over, Academy sponsors and Liz Edwards and husband confirmed for Q & A in Toto's Bristol before next Saturdays match - full attendee details below: Ian Milne - Managing Director Peter Over - Club Director 2 x Academy Sponsors & Club Ambassadors Liz Edwards & Husband - Supporters Club Chair/Director/Academy Sponsor" Should be good! Anyway, thoughts on the game? I know this ones early but I thought I'd get the debate running earlier. May have a loan signing or two for then, and they of course have a new manager when we often lose .... Grrrr....
I'll be coming down, picking up my brother from temple meads at 11, then planned to park in the cricket club near the stadium. I've been going on the assumption they welcome away fans. As for the game, it feels like it's a game we should win. But with Fraser injured and it not being home on a Tuesday night, I'm a lot less confident.
We always park at the cricket club there's always plenty of room, does anyone know if the away supporters seats have had backs put on them as part of the re development Ashton Gate?
You'll be in the end opposite from where away fans use to be, that's all home fans now , so you'll have a section on the Atyeo stand, to the right hand side you'll see our massive West stand under construction, and yes all seats have backs on them now
Spanish as good a player as Fraser is I don't think that automatically means we won't win! But I also feel a bit iffy about this one - our record vs sides with new managers is pretty damn abysmal. City have picked up of late, 7/12 from their last 4 so probably one of their best runs of the season to date. No goals conceded in the last two at home, very impressive victory over the Boro. I was at the Portman Road game and they looked decent. Luke Freeman had a very good game at CM, we need to get tighter to him. As for our lineup, well no Fraser / Douglas still out / Hyam / Skuse are they likely to be fit? May have serious issues @ cm for this one. Tabb or Coke could end up starting.
I'm not going to bore you all with any 'we are in a false position...' rubbish - we are where we are because we have allowed the opposition to score more goals than us. Simples. However, with a couple of exceptions we have put in some decent performances and carved out plenty of chances - only to fail to deliver goal as an end result. In 4 of our games this season, the opposition goalkeepers have been MOTM!!!! Now we have changed to 4 at the back we are harder to score against, so it'll be a tight game. Now I've said that - LJ will revert back to 3-5-2 and we'll ship a hatload!!
Bart Chambers Smith Berra Krapson AMN Bru Coke Pringles Murphy Sears something like that, nailed on he goes 442, that midfield looks a bit poo imo!
Coke is injured so he won't be near the team. Which will probably give the 'Fabulous Tabb' a rare outing.. and played in the centre alongside Hyam or Bru will probably have a decent game. Any other scenario and he will be completely out of his depth having not kicked a ball in anger for months. I'm going to predict my usual draw, and I expect it to be an entertaining (if low of quality match) with a couple of goals apiece. 2-2
Scowey see midfield article I don't think Tabb will play a minute due to contractual issues so I don't think he'll be in the squad.
Not feeling massively confident about this. Thankfully the weather is horrific so that will help our generally anti football style of play. COYB!
