The first half today was the best i have seen for a long long time, not just the goals scored but the football played was excellent, the passing and quick tempo going forward was great to see, There is a long way to go lets hope it can continue and hopefully some of those missing fans will begin to return, our next two home games are against Peterborough and then a night game against Blackpool were i would let school kids go in cheaply in half the North stand or let season pass holders take someone for a fiver. I am sure there are many fans who like to go but just cannot afford it, and with a fuller stadium it can only help this promising Hull City team

Potentially, we could absolutely rape Peterborough.

We looked like a top two side today, the chemistry between Simpson, Aluko, Quinn, Elmo, Dudgeon and Olofinjana are leading to us being a threatening side going forwards. With our regular solidarity in defence, we look as though we could contend the top 2. UTT!

Todays form was comfortably promotion standard. No team could have lived with us in the first half.

One interesting thing today was the way Millwall changed from the 4-4-2 that beat Sheff Wednesday the week before to 5-3-2 to match us (probably after seeing how we destroyed Bolton's 4-4-2).
It shows managers have already picked up on how effective our formation is and are trying to find ways to play against it.

In the second half they switched back to 4-4-2, but it's good that we can stick to our normal game plan while the opposition are forced into making changes.

I would have accepted the 2nd half performance more IF McLean and Proschwitz had come on to join the fun. Even Steve Bruce admitted City eased off. 4-1 will do. Same again tuesday and more importantly next sunday please lads.

It really was a brilliant performance.

We now have a team full of players who love to have the ball. They pass and move it quickly, they are always looking for space and when the ball comes to them, they aren't afraid to take their chance.

I hope it can only get better too. This team has only been playing this system for 2-3 weeks - imagine what it could be like in a couple of months when the players are more confident and more familiar with each other. There were a few occasions today where a good ball was passed, but nobody was there - after a while playing the system players will largely cut out those errors and be able to make even more instinctive passes.

I think that's 6 straight wins at home now in the league. If we're gonna challenge for promotion it's important to make the KC a fortress, which we appear to be doing. I think the acid test to our credentials lies in the next few games before the international break against Leeds, Leicester, Blackpool and the Wendies. We need to carry our recent form into away games (not won away since March) and like we did against Bolton we need to mix it with the top teams in the league. Winning brings confidence though and I'm feeling optomistic we can maintain this good form. I'm back home at the end of the month so I'll hopefully be going to the Peterborough game and then Sheff Wednesday the following weekend.

I have never seen a side create as many clear cut efforts on goal. If we had scored 10, Milwall could not have had any complaints. This side has the making of being in the running for the title. Look at the teams we have played, and how well we have played.

I don't think in all my time as a Hull fan i have come away from a game thinking we could beat anyone in the division we are in. I have seen some great performances and no doubt probably some better, but the movement i saw today was outstanding, everyone just seemed to link up well and seemed to know where each other was going. Quinn was superb for me and made a huge difference, a couple of times simpson and him had different ideas, once they get completely on the same wavelength we will be unstoppable. What has actually changed with Simpson? He looks a different player.

What has changed with Simpson? He has a manager who actually has faith in him that's what's changed

In fairness he played a long run of games at the start and didnt perform. He should have had a chance last year though.

Maybe the change is the additions of Aluko, Elmo, Quinn, and the formation. Does anyone know if his shot to goal ration has actually changed? Or is he just getting more opportunities?

In fairness that is true but he starts to perform and what happens, he is replaced by Fryatt and McClean and yes he should of ben given a chance last season.

I love the way the opposition is changing tactics rather than us.

Was about to say the same myself. He's always had it in him, just needed to be given a chance.

In terms of Simpson, I think because he's in the team and not having to look over his shoulder at losing his place to say Matty Fryatt, he is now playing with confidence and finally feels 'loved' up north.

    Long may it continue.
