Brilliant result. Some very tough games coming up but until we know the result of them its not yet game over. 2 more points than i was expecting today and prevented Brighton pulling away. Also good to see a more attacking line up, glad it paid off.
Well I will put my neck on the line and state that I think we are definitely safe from the drop......you can remind me of this statement in May if you want...
Well **** my wellingtons, didnt expect that!! Well done to all the players, TC for great coaching and ME for financing the loan deal of Williams. Dont think i missed anyone out
It's a slim chance but I don't understand how you can write us off completely? A while ago we were never going to catch forest now they're in touching distance, this time of year you get some strange results and I think we'll just keep plodding along nicely. Myself I don't think we'll get it but you can't write us off. My prediction at the start of the season was we'd finish around 7th and that it'll go down to the last couple of games but we just won't have quite enough to get in and that's still on
Oh Mick McCarthy you are the love of my life! For Putting the PRIDE back into Ipswich Town Football Club!
Fantastic win today. Keeps us in the mix. Shame derby got their mojo back tho that's gonna be a tough one. And a good win for me personally with an acca thanks to papis cisse last minute winner. Tonight is a bloody good night.
Mills? Yeah i am not to keen on his commentry, his voice is sooo dull and boring, ah.......... talking of dull and boring has made me realise who i missed out!! Well done Mick Mcarfy for picking a slightly less defensive side and actually trying to win!! There, i said it and it hurt!!
Great result but it was still pretty dull wasn't it? Our wingers were very ineffective and were replaced by 2 defensive midfielders, it worked but it isn't pretty. Again we only really created from Cresswell or set pieces. I hope Wordsworth keeps his place, he wasn't great but he showed glimpses of quality and abit of authority on the ball. As I said I'd like to see him perhaps in the role Williams was in today perhaps with Williams going out wide in place of Hunt or Anderson with Skuse coming back in. Though going against what I've just said I thought Hyam looked much more assured today because he was playing in the position which suits him best with the defensive side of the game being more on him because Skuse wasn't playing. Still can't understand why Taylor wasn't at least included in the squad, looks like it's curtains for him
It's not impossible - Odds are 9-1 to make the play offs, bearing in mind they keep the pay outs firmly in their favour and maybe one team every ten years will make a deficit like that without a big change, and that there would usually be three or four teams our distance away I reckon the realistic odds would be somewhere between 20-1 to 30-1 for us to pull it off this season.
Really enjoyed today's game(great choice as my once yearly away trip). We rode our luck a bit ,especially in the first half ,but took our chances well(and how often have we said that of the opposition this season?) Fantastic jinking run from Williams for the second goal and he really worked his socks off. Brilliant turnout from the Blues fans for what was Brighton's best crowd of the season.
Not really, it just proves that Mick knows we are short on creativity and he addressed it. He has time to use Williams in his system to show to himself that he can accommodate creativity and keep it solid.
Is it not just a waste of wages when our own players are having to sit out games? Can't see Palace letting a player of his talent leave permanently.
