Sorry Wiz, but by closing the other thread, I have had no option but to do this to have a right of reply. Close it down if you want, I don't care anymore...

The picture at the bottom of this thread is Banksy's standard response to any "Remain" commentary demanding some kind of re-run of the vote. He seems to be under the impression that I want a re-run and had I asked for that, the picture would be apt however as I never have, it is completely pointless...

Most posters on here debated and put their point of view on the referendum in a reasonable and considered manner however a few in particular went to great pains to shout down any suggestion contrary to their opinion so, what I did say was that every time an item described in such strident terms as "scaremongery" actually comes true, I am going to highlight the fact that it is actual reality we are dealing with and not the fantasy they imagined...

3 days in, Brexit has done a pretty good job so far in screwing the UK.

    - the UK's credit rating has been downgraded (potentially increasing the cost of everyone's mortgage)
    - the stock market relating to British companies (the FTSE 250) is down around 15% - what does that say about confidence in the future of British industry...
    - Banks in particular are being hammered, a few having lost 15-20% in value.
    - the pound is at a 30 year low
    - both main political parties are a shambles
    - no one knows WTF is going on

Ooh, but its a "wobble", really - I wouldn't like to see a full scale crisis then. The rest of the world doesn't give a toss about the UK. Pretty good effort in making the country great again chaps, what you got up your sleeve next. I know, why don't you post the picture again. It's not like you have anything else to offer....

Anyone who wants an idea of the attitude and approach we can expect from the EU to our new trade deal should watch a re-run of Radek Sikorski on Hardtalk on BBC News (now) - not great viewing for Brexit-ers

Is that all you've got, repeat "we won" - we know you won, and look at what you DID win. We are talking about the DIRE consequences of your victory, which you were warned of. Act in haste, repent in leisure - too late now

How is the business going then RR, noticed any impact yet..? - if not, won't be long...

Have a good hard look at all of this

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-36641390

See what Boris says about the German BDI which was trumpeted on the board as look, business as usual - see what the BDI actually said...

But writing in the Telegraph on Monday, Boris Johnson quoted German employers' organisation the BDI saying there would continue to be free trade and access to the single market. The BDI later denied this.

"The BDI was on Monday, to put it mildly, rather surprised by the claim. It was untrue - the BDI had never and would never say such a thing, it told the BBC"

Seems we now have a new word "BEGRET"

Back to their dictating I see, didn't take long...

Mr Juncker has placed a "ban" on any commissioners or senior Commission officials entering into preliminary negotiations with the UK government before Article 50 is triggered.
"No notification, no negotiation," he adds.
He says that the result of the referendum has "cut off one of the wings" of the European Union, but that "we are still flying".
He says that the EU institutions will continue to work towards the "pre-determined objective" set out in the EU treaties, adding:
To my last breath, I will fight for a united Europe."

Who is he to stop free, democratic nations from talking?

    Why is it dictating..?

We haven't been expelled, we choose to leave BUT, we want to see what is on offer before we formally hand in our notice. In other words, we want our cake and eat it.

We want to put our house in order first..? - tough, should have thought about that beforehand. The EU have no reason to be nice to us, we have damaged them so, why should they..?

There is nothing on offer unless we accept free movement of people so, we are in trouble...

We left so take responsibility for the decision and go, don't lurk embarrassingly in the shadows...

You are obviously very good at reading words to suit your cause..

    1) Mr Juncker has placed a "ban" on any commissioners or senior Commission officials entering into preliminary negotiations with the UK government before Article 50 is triggered.

    2) "No notification, no negotiation,"

This to me is somebody dictating " Ban" and "No notification, no negotiation," if we want to have an informal meeting with a willing partner, **** him.

I have already stated that I am more than willing to pay an increase in tax or pay more for my debt and would accept an increase in the cost of living just to be a member of an independent nation, free and clear of the biggest disaster waiting to happen, all of these people that are shouting if you are old and white please hurry up and die, or that I'm a racist because I voted out or that I'm thick and don't understand the consequences, disgust me.

I knew exactly what and why I voted the way I did , I understood all about the finances and the markets negative reactions, I also understand that it will recover when confidence and a sense of direction returns, I'm happy to go with it, I was young but I remember when we were in control of our own nation and believe me it will be worth retuning to it.

Most of the people complaining are doing so because they are concerned at their own personal circumstances and what they might lose, that I understand but it's purely selfish motives and I don't go with it.

I'm not arguing with you, I'm giving you my own thoughts and reasons, I will offer no further responses.

That's fair enough Wiz. You will, I hope, accept that I have never said (or thought) any of that about you..

I don't have a cause, just pointing out the reality of the situation as opposed to the pup sold by Brexit which they are already backtracking on faster than an Italian tank...

Basic principal - if you kick someone in the nuts, don't expect them to play nice and be reasonable with you...

p.s. I thought Farage's speech was very good this morning, remains to be seen if they take any notice

I don't know about 'like' but I've had enough of the bickering and point-scoring.
The vote is over, like it or lump it, and we have to get on with life.
