Will these managers really be interested in the super nova clubs? Is there much achievement in buying ManCity a title? Is Chelsea worth it when you lose 3 in a row and they are howling for your hide? Will anyone really have a fair chance of following Ferguson? Of course the contract would be tempting and mean financial security for his family. But take a 3 year contract on £1M a year and thats still a decent policy against the future.
It would be nice to think that lambert thinks along the same lines as rodgers aswell! "I'm already at a top club. I'm at a place where I can manage fantastically well, and have the oppertunity to work well with players who want to improve. You only have to look at the players that lambert is signing and he clearly is laying down his legacy with the club for the medium term atleast.
Couldn't agree more. I seem to remember Nigel Clough envying the relationship PL had with the board, the team and the fans when he was here last season. Long may it last!!!
Thing is, if you want glory, keep the Swans/Norwich in the prem for the next ten years! You'll get a statue, key to the city, people naming their children after you, etc. Who needs a bigger club, 'cos a certainly ain't a bigger challenge!
i know if i was a manager i would rather manage Swansea or Norwich and making them competetive rather than any of the big clubs where finishing second is a failure and getting sacked
my god, norwich and swansea are getting on so well with each other these days it's time our respective councils thought about twinning. will admit it is really nice to come on here and have a bit of pleasant banter with opposition fans who respect each other and their teams, rather than the usual vitriolic abuse with certain other teams. good luck to both teams for the future. lets show that the so called "small" teams are anything but.
good news for swansea, he's found a club where he fits in with the philosophy, maybe he's learnt that if you find a club where you are wanted and given time, you can be a success, in hindsight maybe he regrets leaving watford a bit too early, in this business if you start to believe your own hype and get a bit too big for your boots then you are skating on thin ice if you arent producing the results. i'm probably not alone in thinking that if BR sees out his contract and throughout that contract swansea continue to consolidate and improve, then fans would know that he's done alot for the club and deserves a shot at the big time, same goes for norwich, and here at cardiff, if MM does the business for us and in a few years leaves amicably then he'll still be respected by the fans

at the end of the day he could have another 30 years in management, a move now would be too soon, cannot see any reason for him to leave during his new contract whilst the Swans are in the Prem.
i can't see why either will be moving on any time soon. its probably too soon to move to a bigger club and they have both begun to build something pretty special at their respective clubs. a move now could prove a mistake. i think both will stay for a good while yet - they are both sensible guys. rodgers has really impressed me, i have to say
Its a pretty win/win situation for BR , I doubt anyone expects us to achieve more, as a small regional club, than to be a mid table club. If we get some Euro games via the fair play league then thats a bonus, so is a good cup run. After a couple of seasons just staying up , clubs like Totenham will say 'look what he did with a small budget' and if we got relegated then its easy too see him going to another mid table prem club as he will have Prem experience, and another chance to show what he can do.
Happy guys make the best nice guys , Brendan has gone through a lot of personal tragedy the last little bit & I would say that Swansea (club & area ) at his side have been big part of his recovery , for him & his family IMO .
