I've sent out two messages, so hopefully at some point I will be able to give you an answer. Logically though, I would guess if there are problems maintaining the site, the concentration is going to be on fixing that, rather than replying to mod messages. Although it would be nice to have an explanation
i am not very computer minded but something does seem wrong when this is happening on a regular basis.
I know the site owner has upgraded the server several times, in the early days we had hackers but I can only assume it is numbers now, with over 14,000 members. Either that or occasionally the site owner is known to pull the wrong plug out
Rocky - there has been a response from the site owner, it appears the problem is with the network that he has bought two dedicated servers from. He has a 3 month contract with them and I think it is fair to say, the boss man is not happy and is looking for some straight answers from them for the problems.
Feedback... A software error occurred yesterday between 9am EST and 11:30am EST, then again from 2pm EST to 5pm EST due to an incorrect network configuration for the Dedicated Servers. As a result, these servers were temporarily not accessible on the Internet.
When I failed to find the site a few days ago I did a quick search for other boards to see if there was anything on those, but I could not even find any board that had pages dedicated to individual clubs apart from one site that would appear to be set up by an individual which still had Gills in Division 1 (before it became the Championship!!) - http://andychapman.tripod.com/one.htm. Even the heavily spamming new606 (close to the demise of the BBC 606 pages) has apprently gone. So it would appear that not606 has a fairly strong position, but let's not forget that it's not funded by a public broadcaster (to the best of my knowledge) but it's still free. And it's a much better place than 606. So I hope that the owner can maintain an efficient service, but that we can forgive the odd glitch, however frustrating it may be at the time.
