Yeah, I know that Breezy, just winding him up a bit, and a chance for him to get his vocabulary right.
Dai, we're not going to spend anywhere near the amount of money that you want us to, that is clear. How the hell do you know what we will spend scott ???? the fact is you dont as nobody does, this is not about that anyway its about what we should spend and i bet you im much closer than what you are in what Brendan will demand. he knows his targets and they wont be league one prices...
You're right, I don't know how much we're going to spend, but really...what are the chances we're going to spend anything approaching 10 million with no guarantee of PL footie next season? Ask a bookie and see what he says...and I didn't say anything about how much Brendan is supposedly going to "demand", I said about how much we will spend.
average price for the lower price player we can afford is about £2 million and some will be slightly more, now these players wont be super stars for that price but they will have the ability to play at the top level...so just 4 out of the 6 players brendan wants will be pushing the £10 million mark including signing on fees, thats the reality of premiership football im afraid scott the higher the league you are the more a player of the quality needed will cost.....
There was some "fresh" quotes from Brendan in the press today, and from (your favourite man) Huw, saying how they're going for quality over quantity. I agree about the price range thing, but I think we'll probably only sign 1 player over 1.5mil, I'd be very surprised if we spent £3mil+ on players in January.
if danny who has never played premiership football before cost us with his signing on fee around the £4 million mark then we will have to pay for the minimum of 4 players over £10 million and that is well in what we can afford today....qpr £20 million budget, Norwich £15 -£20 million or as delilah said " as much as it will take to keep us in he premiership" and if our board are committed then we have to do the same.
go back to league one cracker where you belong, you certainly dont know what it costs for a proven premiership player ...that is plain to see,,so go back to sleep as your not in the real world......
those figures have been plucked from thin air, and you know it. QPR have not necessarily spent large amounts on transfer fees but i can tell you that barton, ferdinand, wright phillips and young will cost a fair whack in wages. if they do spend your made up figure then i dread to think what will happen if they get relegated. make no mistake the owners would be gambling the clubs future, sure it will look good if it pulls off, but what if it doesnt? if any decent money is available, its clear that more penetration is needed in the final third, and apart from maybe 1 defender, thats where the limited funds should go IMO
swamp it was reported on sky and quoted in norwich local rag on delias intentions,....you only get facts from me swamp. you need to keep your finger on the pulse and know whats going on.....you obviously dont..
Dai you have learnt nothing from our past, that much is obvious to me, and I'm grateful in the knowledge, that our current board and chairman, will pay absolutely no attention to so called fans like you, who it is clear only want to gamble the clubs security and future, on momentary success, from overpaid Prima Donna's. Time for you to go and support Manure!.................... please log in to view this image
sorry chaps, had to intervene on what is quite frankly the most stupid article of 2011! delia has never come out and said ANYTHING about transfers or 'as much as it takes to keep us in the premiership' because she doesn't run the club, david mcnally does, and he has NEVER mentioned a figure available to the manager. however, paul lambert has gone on record to state that 'money is tight' but that 'there is money available to bring in three or four players' and that 'the club know who i want and are working on it'. we DO NOT have £15-20m available, more like £5-6m, almost certainly a similar figure to swansea, so don't talk bollocks
Decent comment, Swamp. A quality defender is needed but, imo, more money should be spent on attacking/creative middies who know where the goal is - and it would help if they had a physical presence about them. Won't be cheap, though.
then where did you get the nonsensical idea that wigan are going to spend big money from? it may be reported by the media but anyone with more than one brain cell should be able to work out that they simply dont have the funds to do so... ok, so if a paper is speculating that norwich will spend money, fair enough, you then void your argument by bull****ting about how they're going to spend £15m and so on, when only the people in charge know.. thankyou superman
