he will sign but not until he sees what the club will give him for him to do his job he and others knows he is capable of doing. if he thinks the money he finally gets wont be enough and he sees what the other two promoted clubs and the likes of wigan and blackburn are getting then he wont hang around to jeopardize his growing reputation to be dragged down to a nobody again by us....he will do a martinez an sousa and move on......its only a job to him...

Dai - a managers contract means even less than a players contract - if he wanted to leave then he would leave, regardless of a contract's terms! Think you are correct that he needs to have the backing of the board financially but think you are a little harsh saying that it is only a job to him; have talked to Buck on several occasions and he is passionate about what he is trying to do at Swansea and genuinely loves the club, city and fans - of course this doesn't mean he won't leave if he feels his vision isn't being supported by the board, but think you are doing him a disservice by questioning his commitment to the cause. It is not 'just a job' to him, of course he wants to enhance his own reputation, but he does genuinely care for the team and the fans! And don't you think I am a Dai basher mate - disagree with a lot you say on here - but also agree with a lot you say as well - is what these forums are all about! <cheers>

Yes agreed Musty, Rodgers is on overkill, with all this short sideways, backwards passing, he needs to leave out messing with our Martinez legacy with regard to our movement and fluidity in the midfield, he's strangling our game, our boys need the freedom to express themselves, time to loosen the reigns in my view, and get Dobbie on the field too!....................

at the end of the day cartoon it is nothing more than a job to him to further his career. he loves the club as long as he is here just as flynn, jacket, martinez and sousa did but they dont love the club enough to stay here when they cant take the club any further, Brendan is no different and will stay until it starts to be detrimental to his own ambition and he will move on.....players are the same....they say they love the club but the minute they are offered better they want to move on.......The club has offered Brendan a new contract a couple of months back and he has refused to sign at this moment and why do you think that is, what it is not is because he loves the club thats for sure.

the difference between a sacked manager and a manager that walks is ...

A sacked manager has had all the necessary backing from his club to do the job and he failed to deliver...

and the manager who walks has been where the manager has not been fully backed enough to be able to do his job and is ruining his career for future jobs..

the swans fall mostly under the second scenario....

yes your right JH when they should look at the real problem instead of calling for the managers head, Brendan Knows he wants SIX players to replace over half of the current championship players and less......if we dont back him its Bye Bye Brendan as he takes Vorm and co with him....that is the reality of the situation im afraid to say....

dai, seriously you are talking so much crap on this thread i must intervene.

you say that wigan will invest heavily this window. what, when over 90 % of their income goes on wages, when they spent less money than they received this summer and with their massive debts? other teams wont be spending heavily i can assure you. bolton are in massive debt, aston villa are trying to reduce their wage bill, blackburn are owned by owners who arent investing anything and want the club to be self financing, and even bigger clubs like newcastle wont be spending big as their is not much value in the january transfer window..

as for rogers walking out on the club due to lack of ambition, dear me. as if he will get another PL job, and its ludicrous for you to pick holes at him when he's just got you promoted and now doing well in the premiership without spending insane amounts of money like QPR and sunderland have, who are beneath you in the table by the way..

Dai, we're not going to spend anywhere near the amount of money that you want us to, that is clear. If that annoys you, fine, but it's not going to happen so what's the point in getting yourself worked up over it? You're only getting away from the real point, which is, as we all know, that we need players, so instead of saying we should spend 10 mil why don't you consult your encyclopedic football brain and have a think about some bargains we could pick up more in our price range?

so you're backing up your claims of wigan spending big money in january with speculation of who they are going to sign, how amusing <laugh> . i prefer to base my claims on facts, two of them being that they are in massive debts with over 90% of their turnover going on wages alone, yet you think that they will splash out big money in january lol. same goes for bolton, and a host of other teams at the bottom half of the table...

Is that "you wrote an article from Sky news" or "you wrote an article FOR Sky news". I believe you can`t write an article from, only for.

Swamp is on the button, clubs are going to have to rein in their spending as much as they can. With the debts a lot are in and if their owners don`t want to keep baling them out, they`ll have to.
