Beating Birmingham on saturday would help the Posh and Fergie jnr. With Boyd gone they can move in for Tunnicliffe. That would ease any Posh fans pain.
@BroadcastMoose Who recalls George Boyd's failed move to Forest? The " failed eye test" well I can see him linking up with a father & son at a northern club @daveseasider @BroadcastMoose I assume you mean Hull, not Blackpool? @BroadcastMoose @daveseasider correct This guy is very reliable for those who don't know, works for talksport and is a massive Peterborough fan I believe.
http://thepeoplesperson.com/tunnicliffe-looks-set-for-barnsley-move/? According to this, Tunnicliffe is set to go on loan to Barnsley, so if P'boro are waiting for a Boyd replacement before he comes to us, it might make things complicated.
Does everyone feel George Boyd is good enough for the Premiership? Surely we are not going to pay out quite a substantial loan fee + 10k wages for 13 games without making him at least look at a pre-contract agreement (or whatever they are called) This got me thinking should he sign for us permanently + should we be in the premiership would he be good enough to make our first team?
1) Yes I reckon he'd be good enough, he's a classy player and also doesn't lack pace or power from what I've seen. If the best players in this division aren't PL ready then who is? 2) It doesn't matter anyway, all we need to focus on now is getting there. I know it'd be nice to have as close to a PL-ready squad as possible in the event we do get promoted but we really can't be greedy. Our only objective now should be to get promoted and I can't think of a more suitable player than Boyd to help us do that. I'm surprised the media, apart from this Moose thing, haven't picked up on this story yet. They made a fuss over the usual non-story of 'Tunnicliffe is going out on loan so every club in the Championship might sign him.' But they aren't interested in a story where our manager has openly admitted he wants this player and thinks he's available, and the manager of our biggest rivals for his signature has said he isn't interested.
Complete unknown as is any untried lower league player. Who wouldve thought Grant Holt would be decent in the top flight? I thought he looked ****ing ****e in League 1 and was a total carthorse. But personally yes I expect Boyd to do ok if he gets a shot at it, he reminds me (and ive said this plenty of times) of Robbie Blake and he did ok for Burnleh.
I see Leicester have just got Harry Kane from Spurs. I think Boyd will be a great loan, but I'll feel very uneasy if we don't get another forward with goals in him.
‏@talkSPORTDrive That's the worst news I've had in a long time. A long, long time. Yes even worse than that. Ugh.... Slight over exaggeration if it is Boyd but you never know!
