Boycott Acworths pointless threads

I suggest we boycott Acworths inane,pointless threads as of now.
I am starting as of now, not intending to read or obviously respond to any.

I agree. Don't feed trolls, it only encourages them.

is there a way to hide the threads he creates?

they are more annoying than the content and grammar of his posts as he deliberately posts crap threads to ensure he always has at least one thread at the top of our page and it's all these threads that push the genuine threads down the page and means it takes longer to catch up on everything for those of us who are only able to access the site at lunchtime during a working week.

 

Unfortunately not, Martinho - you'll still be able to see illiterate garbage in the headings but not the content.

Here's some more ideas -

If you haven't got the prat filter on, ignore the posts altogether, don't even view them. Every view will register, and even if nobody posts to the thread, the ego will be satisfied simply by seeing how many people were curious. Every time the name changes, renew the filter.

Resist the temptation to view what other posters have registered on the thread, even to see their disgust - again this will register a view.

If he posts on your thread, or a thread to which you're replying, ignore what he's posted and stick to replying to authentic posters.

Most of all, if a thread comes up saying something like "Why is everybody treating me like this" or "Why does everybody hate me?" completely ignore it - the more people who look at it or respond to it, the more the sense of self-worth will be reinforced.

Let's everyone give AllHell a hand here - he mods this board beautifully and all along he's tried to be fair and reasonable and put down clear guidelines to follow - but a personality like this doesn't recognise guidelines or boundaries or rules of any kind.

IMO, it's up to us to take concerted action to stop not only this board but this club becoming a laughing stock. Posts are beginning to appear on other boards and will inevitably drag the name of this club down.

Apologies to any Addicks who find this to be an extreme view, but my enjoyment of this pivotal season in our recent history is being seriously impaired by this unrepresentative and disruptive threat.

I'm in Tewks...!! I fear completely ignoring him is the only way forward. I tried in vain to reach out to him in my 'Plea to Mr Ackworth' thread without any success whatsoever.

Imo he is deliberately sabotaging this forum. It's for this reason that i will no longer acknowledge his existence!!
