You were there 10 days early so. I recall the date being 24th May Ted. Bit of a long wait for you. I hope you brought a flask of tea with you.

Hopefully this guy can score a few goals for us too (playing in his more conservative role):-

Another massive moment for Massimo Luongo as his goal sparks Australian victory against Iraq

HIS goal broke the deadlock against Iraq on Thursday night, and Massimo Luongo is revelling in the challenge of trying to break down determined opponents.

Given a more conservative role at QPR, his club in the English Championship, Luongo again produced a key goal for his country to puncture the Iraqi resistance in the opening World Cup qualifier in Perth.

Luongo was on the end of Tomi Juric’s low cross just before the hour mark, carrying out to the letter his instructions from coach Ange Postecoglou.
“The message more when I play for the Socceroos is to get on the ball more and try and threaten the goal be it with a pass or getting in the box,” he said. “I wouldn’t say I got forward deliberately. I’d say it was just the way the game panned out.

“It did take a while for the opportunity to get in the box because they were quite tight at the back, but as the game went on they tired and we worked them well and got our chances.

“The message at halftime was just keep doing what you’re doing and if anything don’t be impatient. We kept probing and to be fair they defended well and they had a game plan. But to do that for 90 minutes is difficult.”

Luongo offered praise to Juric, who reacted to missing a golden opportunity moments before by setting up Luongo’s goal, and six minutes later scored one himself by flicking home a corner to seal the win.

“He offers something different,” Luongo said. “Every player that we put in from the squad of 23, they offer something different and Tomi’s that big number nine that we can look forward to if we have to with a release.

“And he offers something in behind as well and he gets in the box which is handy.”

Another of Teds non rhyming posts
    They really are quite tragic
The sentiment though is the key
Let's hope that Sylla is magic

I note that Beth now has joined in
Could Ted have started a trend?
That all posts now have to rhyme
Or is this the bitter end?

Come one come all lets have a laugh
And see if we can make
All future posts, just like Teds
    Or is it a piss-take?

    I look forward every day
    To reading our Ted's rants
My constant thought though is just one:
    Jeez, his spelling is pants!

Fear not dear Ted, with much respect
    I do enjoy your rhymes
It's just that you should punctuate
    Your bloody posts sometimes!

Sheff, AKA the Bard of Bedfordshire!!

I would have said, that attempt is more than worthy of receiving the Hoops "Poet Laureate" title

There's just one thing I'd like to say
    About dear Ted's rhyming odes
If I have to read just one more
I'll have one of my episodes!

There once was a man from Dundee
Who got stung on the nose by a wasp
    When asked,"Did it hurt?"
    He replied,"Not a bit!
He can do it again if he likes!"

I've given much thought both long and hard
That TeD should be the Bard
To appoint another would be rude
    We know he's no ******

He was the first, there is no doubt
To post his thoughts in rhyme
But Ted please do a spell check,
    Just from time to time

He only posted just this week
That we have some games that are winnerable
I've have now written enough for this thread
So I'm gonna have some dinner........able!

Sheff, erstwhile the Bard of Bedfordshire!

    Winnable games,whatever next
Watching the Hoops, just leaves me vexed
We've got the squad,we've got the style
But I really find it hard to smile

TED you've really got to learn
That our easier games we tend to spurn
So please no more sick bets on us
We know that Blackburn will park the bus

The Geordies on a Tuesday night
It's enough to fill us all with fright
I'm predicting a five goal thriller
With a winning goal from big bad Sylla

I've got to bow to Shefford's class
He's made our TED look like an arse
But I'm not one to cuss and curse
    I quite look forward to TED'S **** verse !
