Talking of SPOTY and Fury (as we weren't) and the protests of his anti-gay bigotry, would it be in bad taste to withdraw all the other candidates for the male award and just have him in a head-to-head with Nicola Adams?

  3. The IBF have stripped the belt from Fury less than two weeks after he won them <laugh>

The fight contract had a clause allowing Klitscho the right of a immediate rematch. However, the IBF decided to ignore this part of the contract and because Fury can't fight the mandatory IBF challenger, they've stripped him of their belt #joke

I think personally boxing above middleweight is a pointless dull excerise in futility. mayweather's style is also dull as ****.

mma has one advantage. you can't defend and use reach solely.

however fury is right that a LOT of mma stars are actually piss poor boxers and get taken apart a lot

    ..............

as for the IBF.. the 4 so called world titles never want their belt to be attached for too long to another so Klitscho having 3 probably stifles their ability to do dodgy deals and rake in dosh under the table.

I jus tthink they are delighted and will have a pay day then offer fur a fight for the belt if he beats the bit klit

  5. Of course but that doesn't stop this situation being a joke. The rematch clause was in the contract, the IBF would have seen that contract since their belt was on the line.

Multiple belts is bollocks anyways man, there should be 1 world title for every weight end of, ****in stupid. All the combat sports are the same.

World champion means nothing now unless a boxer holds all belts for his weight division.

Stupid reason to strip the belt though, you'd expect drugs would be the only reason to do that, or cheating

McGregor will be unbearable if he wins, and he's been all over my facebook feed for months now leading up to this fight. Hope he gets destroyed.

sure. they saw it but they have wanted to have control of thier own belt. the klit has had it for a good while so they cannot shape the fights where they want and grease their palms etc.

Now its split they can take the fight to whatever arena pays the ibf most and prob gets a bigger chunk of back pocket pay on a much smaller fight.

the 4 organisations are just evidence that its corrupt... though looking at ecclestone in F1 or fifa a single orgnaisation can be even more corrupt.

I think mcgregor got a bit of a wake up in the last fight he had against a guy who was barely fit to fight on short notice.

Mcgregor is a striker not a guy to go the ground work and he also has reach too.

Aldo has to get in behind that reach and then its all open for me. i don't think mcgregor has been rocked yet and so he's a lot of hype too.

I dont know aldo is the guy to do it though... there will be someone but is it aldo? is he going to get mcgregor down and kick his ass or is mcgregor a bit too fast for him.

It works both ways with the two weeks notice MITO, welcome back btw<ok>

McGregor trained for a month to fight Aldo, You essentially mould the way you fight to suit the opponent's style. Mendez is a different fish altogether. Aldo has dangerous kicks, Mendez doesn't. Aldo is a harder striker than Mendez, McGregor walked and talked through Mendez best shot and elbows. Worked on gasing him out because he only had a two week camp, the body shots. Tactically excellent as by Round two's end Mendez was gassed, because McGregor kept on him and make him work every second for 10 minutes.

So although Mendez 2 week camp did play a part in him gassing that early, 2 weeks to train for a completely different styled opponent right after training a month for Aldo is a big enough problem too. Mendez has acknowledged this difficulty several times before and after the fight. He also only had two weeks to prepare for McGregor. You could see it in the fight, Mendez was not able to deal with McGregor's striking and McGregor was same with Mendez ground game. Both fought like they were unprepared for each other.

Light weight Muay Thai is pretty brutal, hard little ****ers, and fast. Watching boxing and UFC heavyweight and superheavyweight is like slow motion in comparison

Either Aldo or McGregor can end this fight with one knee or punch respectively. Both are scared of each other, it's so obvious <laugh> McGregor is right though in that the only that can stop McGregor beating Aldo, is McGregor. I think Bruce Lee said similar as did many others of great skill probably said too.

that is true. the mendez guy was a ground style guy but short so aldo was a different prospect. you are right that mcgregor when he could walk did laugh at menez but he wasn't laughing on the ground.

I think mcgregor v aldo is all about reach.

agree there, as long as McGegor can keep it on the feet. I don't think he'll handle Aldo on the ground and Aldo is nearly impossible to take down as well
