Bosingwa fined £100k by Redknapp for refusing to sit on QPR bench By Sami Mokbel PUBLISHED: 23:57, 21 December 2012 | UPDATED: 23:57, 21 December 2012 ..Jose Bosingwa has been fined £100,000 by QPR after refusing to sit on the subs bench for the relegation threatened club. The former Chelsea defender stormed out of Loftus Road after learning he would not be in the starting team to face Fulham last weekend. And manager Harry Redknapp, angry at what he saw as an assault on his authority, invoked the maximum club penalty of two weeks wages as punishment. Bosingwa, 30, was left behind altogether from the QPR squad that travelled for Saturdayâs match at Newcastle although the club tried to hide the trouble, claiming the Portuguese star was suffering a back injury. But his future at Loftus Road looks bleak as Redknapp tries to reshape his squad for the fight for Premier League survival with players who will be committed to the cause. .. Beat me to it Nines. Can't be any middle ground for Bosingwa after this. Either he bites the bullett and get on with the program or it's by by.
I don't exactly know what he was expecting, he couldn't be bothered to put up half decent performances pre-Redknapp and now he's expecting first team football? A weak character. And not one we need in a relegation battle.
I initially thought ( Wrongly. ) that he would be a top signing for us. But it has become apparent that he doesn't care about wearing the hoops. The lad thinks he's too good for us. Bye bye indeed. Career over. I doubt that he really cares though. Hopefully Harry can bring a resurgence, and he can prove to be the player that won two Champions Leagues. I doubt it though. Another big Hughes mistake.
I've seen him bustling for throw ins and trying to keep it going when we're down. Storming out when you're on that wage is hardly a sign of a mercenary. Just have a distinct impression that people have got him wrong.
Brilliant stuff from Harry. That's what I love to see from a Manager. This guy has my utmost respect. Oddball's nonsense has been rubbished again! I just hope that when this whole saga is over, whether we be in the NPC or Prem, that we never again go down the route of signing such players like Mark Hughes did. Funny that you should post this up Nines because I've been arguing all day over on the Chelsea Board about how useless this chap Bosingwa has been. I think I'll copy your article and paste it over there if that's okay!!
Me too, but boy have I learned a lesson this last year or so. Name means nothing, if they don't have the hunger any more there is absolutely no point in bringing them to the club. To be fair to Bosingwa though, he has worked a lot harder since Harry arrived. He was fighting for air towards the end of the Sunderland game after working hard throughout. Also the Villa game showed a marked improvement in his workrate. Maybe this is why he was so frustrated being left out that he left the stadium??? But his overall play has been poor and everything suggests we're better off getting rid.
Whilst I'm not one of those who thinks Bosingwa's been crap since arriving, he's had both on and off days, he's not exactly been on it in convincing us he's right behind the cause has he? Take Stephane M'bia for example. Let it be known he didn't really want to come here, didn't even know we existed. Made it clear he wasn't really up for playing CB either, which is what Hughes seemed to think he was getting. HOWEVER, all that said and done, and the ban for the stupid red card, he's done everything he can to win us over with his fighting tweets, his efforts on the pitch and his after match shirt distribution to young Rs. And for that we love him and he'll just get better and better for our added support. Dunno if Steph's that much more talented than Bosingwa but I do know who I'd pick first on attitude alone. Let's put it this way, both on his performance to date and the fact that few Chelsea fans mourned his transfer out, even a failing QPR is too good for him. Signing him at the end of the last window was evidently a desperate act anyway. Byeee! Bring back Luke Young ffs!
Bosingwa can piss off on 1st January. He has been paid well for poor performances and will not accept being part of the team by sitting on the subs bench. He should of sat on the bench cheering on the team with the hope of getting on in the second half.
Bosingwa good player and wants to fight walking away from 100k which at the time he may not if considered shows passion ... So I was right Swords and Agree 100% with matt Lads you have him wrong You can't be so daft to sort out what words are the journos can you ? Dinosaurs awake his football is very good ... Form up and down like Brixton said but overall a major assert for our club... On here we need to divorce ourselves from the rubbish So he had a reported hissy fit cost him 100k so what , he doesn't talk to Col so what I am only interested in what he does on the pitch So far he has looked super composed and I believe that us the way to win modern football games ... Not just by huff and puff if it wasn't for Adel last week Mackie would have cost us the game on here I am sure on it
Sorry Matt, but I think you're completely wrong there. He has shown NO urgency whatsoever and his attitude has been appalling. Complete ****er who I never want to see in the hoops again! (Snubbed all the fans outside before the Fulham game and that told us everything we needed to know about the twat)
One positive from this: it's a good sign that HR identified Bosingwa's poor form so early in his tenure and did something about it pronto. No truck with reputations or big names just give me performances.
I thought it sounded a bit strange when Harry said yesterday in his press conference that Bosingwa had hurt his back...He (Harry) sounded like he was covering something up..I also find it a bit odd that cessar has also hurt his back after recovering from his groin injury...
This is a strange one, on the pitch he looks like he cant be arsed. Off the pitch he was so upset at not playing that he walked out, youd have though hed be happy to sit there and pick up his money.
