Rubbish excuse. I’ve seen more desire during Mick’s better years. This is a team short of confidence and frequently looking short of quality.

Posts like this is why I argue with you constantly as this is akin to sniffing glue.

    Absolutely outrageous thing to say.

More desire from every side since.

Chalobah went for a Sunday morning job back for their first goal.

We played some very good stuff - it's the same old deficiency that we had in week one - namely an isolated striker / not getting bodies on the end of opportunities. And this is coupled with some bewildering selections at times.

For the first time I find myself straddling the line between hurst in and hurst out, because the commitment is there but he's not helping the players and he's had long enough to address this now.

With all the best will in the world, it is starting to feel as though it just ain't going to happen.

But then, I read Westlake's hate-filled bile and it puts me firmly back in the Hurst camp.

Mate you're off your rocker if you thought we played some very good stuff - that's absolute **** in my opinion.

Chalobah was at fault for both goals but he put some excellent balls in second half.

A third division manager with third division players who keeps a World Cup keeper warming his backside on the bench, Nice work Evans every expense spared as usual.

Okay thoughts on each player from what I can recall - absolutely livid right now -

Gerken - couldn't do a great deal. One of them.
Donacien - shakey at start, some misplaced passes but settled and better second half. Some good crosses.
Chambers - at fault for a goal with a silly pass but good tackle or a certain pen. Not his finest evening.
Nsiala - not good on the ball / positional sense. Not great.
Knudsen - not fantastic either / 5050 from Jonas perhaps
Chalobah - I thought did well considering the shape / others around him. Tried to go forward. Two delicious crosses.
Skuse - Not a bad evening, not helped by Nolan...............
Nolan - Sunday morning pub player offered absolutely zero
    Graham - invisible.
Ward - In / out the game. Got into the box a couple of times at least for some form of goal threat
Jackson - So isolated first half, zero idea why hooked unless injured.

    Subs -

Edwards - started well but in / out there on in. Light years ahead of Graham ( granted different wings )
Sears - huffed and puffed, tried - lone striker not his game.......
Dozzell - great to see back and did more for time on pitch than pub league Nolan.

Will need to watch the goals back and properly analyse both on that - not what I remember but when some highlights go up will have a look Yorkie! I'm quite sure Chambers was directly at fault for one with a shocker pass, not Chalobah but will have a look at a later date :)

Chambers gave the ball away but Chalobah was in a position to close down and he retreated and fell over instead.

Even took Jackson off half time mate - unless he's injured, Hurst's a clown.

I think it's academic to criticise / praise individuals because there were loads of mistakes and holes all over the park for a spell in the first half. Collectively we were awful at times and collectively we looked decent at times.

    Well that's your prerogative

You appear to love telling me how to use this forum............. If I wish to critique each player solo or as a team, then that is what I will do.

I do not tell you how to go about your posts.........

So fine, that's my thoughts on each player

As for the team as a whole then.

    * Zero tempo * Too many hoofs * No confidence

    Not good enough frankly.

Can't comment much on the game because I was too busy at work to see most of it.
The scoreline says we kept them out after the first 20 minutes but I'm sure that doesn't tell the whole story.

The truth is we didn't create anything in the first half, much more on the front foot second half and created chances but never really looked like finding the net.

If you told me before the game it would be 2-0 I wouldn't have been that surprised but particularly with Luke Chambers' error, the only word I can find to describe it is disappointing.

Disappointing sums it up for me too.First half we were absolutely dire, second we showed at a bit of intent and at least had a sniff of a goal effort.
Really starting to worry where we're going.
Good to see Andre get some game time and a couple of defence splitting passes which is about the most positive thing I can think of to post.

I think it's pretty clear we're heading for League One.

The question is whether Hurst is the right man for the long term.

Burley and Butcher in the stand certainly feels like an attractive alternative right now.

Just listened to interview with PH on radio Suffolk and he sounds like a broken man. Almost all callers were asking for introduction of our youth players as they are no worse than the players in the team and the fans are more likely to give “one of their own” more time. Having been to a couple of games this season and read various reports of the rest, the 1 player that appears completely out of his depth is Nolan yet he plays every game. I will still support PH but he needs to do something to get the crowd on side - starting with a more attacking formation / players would help

I wouldn't agree with the judgement that Nolan's out of his depth Royston. He has the thankless task to hang around in Addis Ababa to link up the defence in Galway and the midfield in Monaco with Kayden Jackson who's over in Queensland.
