Bolton still have a game in hand!..I think we need a win and a draw now!...could be amazing but could be horrid!
Think you guys could be right - I previously thought a win would be enough, but i think we now need a point away. Cant see that unfortunatley. We look a different side away from home.
Not at all good. I think Chelsea winning is fine. Hopefully they will not be too bothered to beat us, risking injury, and we might nick a draw.
You just know Bolton are going to stay up and dedicate their survival to Muamba. Blackburn will go down and its either us or Wigan. Villa im sure will scrape at least a point from their final games to be safe. With the run in weve got we need a result sunday against some people who have just beaten the current european champions to have any hope of staying up. I hope im wrong but just feel our odds of survival are about 40/60. Come on you Rs
mad end of the season now, no team has shown that better than Wigan. I think the stoke game will be harder than many are thinking. Stoke are a tough bunch, used to being abused and disliked by other clubs, so i don't think the hostile LR atmosphere will work as well against them as the more delicate princesses of the 'big' clubs. And who knows where Chelsea's head will be at this weekend? In some ways the number of players excluded from the final could motivate them to prove themselves (or redeem themselves) in front of a buzzing SB. But then all this will be immaterial if Bolton can't finally lift themselves for the final few games, and with injuries and a packed schedule, they'll have to be careful which battles they choose to go for. But would you really have it any other way? The later on in the season you make it, the bigger the party, the stronger the team come together, the greater the glory. This weekends going to be very big, good luck for it!
Thanks, Battersea, for reminding us how tight this is! I think we all agree that Stoke are no walk over. There are permutations that have us staying up even with a draw against Stoke but probably not now that Bolton will gain some confidence from that win. Villa's goal diff is better than ours. I sincerely hope that does not become relevant!
RTID, not trying to cast doubt, can see you getting 4-6 from the last 3 games. Your change of form has been pretty great, and confidence must be high in the team. Bolton may gain confidence, but i don't know if they've got the skill or the legs to get points against teams less woeful than Villa. Even as an outsider its thrilling to watch these games at the end of the season, and great to hear how it looks from the 'inside' from you guys.
BC, agree that key here was that they were playing Villa. They have tough games ahead. I think we will be ok but not definite as you know.
It looks horrendous from the inside,with each passing game i'm losing a further three pounds in weight.At this rate by the end of the season i'm going to be skinnier than Crouchy!
I think we will finish above Villa, because I don't think Chelsea will be at the races Saturday which will give us a good chance of a result, and if we beat Stoke I can't see Villa getting more than two points. Villa v Birmingham midlands derby next season for me.
