View attachment 19625 vs Hopefully Charlton's good away form so far this season can continue when they travel up to the Reebok stadium to face Bolton Wanderers. Last weekend both teams had the same result drawing 2-2. Bolton drew 2-2 with Huddersfield with Davies and Eagles getting in the scoresheet whilst we drew 2-2 at home to Brighton with Lawrie Wilson and Bradley Pritchard finding the net. This will the second time we face Dougie Freedman this season and hopefuly this time we can get one over the ex palace manager. I have gone for Haynes on the right instead of Pritchard as I feel we will try and play counter attacking football and we will need his pace down that side instead of the hard-working Pritchard. At the beginning of the season I would of thought this would of been one of our tougher games and I had predicted Bolton to be right up there in the Promotion mix. I guess that shows just how hard this league is. Anyway looking at the table and the fact Bolton have won one of their last seven games we could definately get something out of this game. I'm gonna go for a 1-0 win and a Jacko penalty.
Wilson will be back at RM, so Pritchard could play instead of Kerkar with Haynes from the bench if we are chasing a goal. Against anybody else I think CP might retain Dervite, but as it's Bolton away he will bring back Cort for the aerial bombardment. Like you I would start with Hulse then bring on Kermorgant, but not sure if CP will.
evina has travelled so wouldnt be surprised if solly went back to RB and evina in at LB, with wilson at RM
Can't see Pritchard on the left. Conundrum time. Best midfield for me is Wilson, Pingpong, Stephens and A N Other on the left. Can't see any room for Pritch but would be surprised if Powell dropped him.
This has 1-1 written all over it for me. Seabourne should be back and if Evina has travelled, would it be worth him having a go at left mid?
If Evina is in the party it is only as cover in case Seaborne has a last-minute relapse. Evina needs another week's training and a practice match if possible before being considered. Solly and Wilson on the right for sure, whoever is at left-back. They show signs of becoming a great combo. That would be a great result. Bolton were one of my favourites for promotion. They have a lot of quality players. That has long been suggested as a solution to our longstanding LM problem but never been tried even when Evina was fighting fit so I cannot see it happening now when he has not had a minute's match time since a major injury. But if he shows up well in u21 or practice matches it could be worth a try at some future date. I understand he is relectant to play in that position though. Those criticising Evina here should remember he is still only an u21. Still has time to blossom. Instead of comparing him unfavorably with Solly or Wiggins we need to compare his development with Bover, Mambo, Michael Smith and Pope, who are all at the same age. I think he is more likely to make the grade than the first three named.
Great effort against belv! I have this down as a draw, but am wary of Bolton. Reading your preview, I couldn't help but get depressed at the 0-1 defeat in 2005. If in right, that was the game bent got injured before and we played 4-5-1 with bothroyd upfront and lost 1-0 to an early Nolan goal, and maybe one of the worst performances I have seen by us. Mark Davies out is a huge boost. Mills being injured helps. I fancy morro and I hope cort, to handle Davies. Eagles Is the danger man, so I hope seaborne is up for it. We have the way defensive away record and I expect us to maintain it. Do we have a goal in us? Tough. 0-0 or 1-1.
We have not let in a goal when Seabourne plays so I would hope for 0-0 but a sneaky 0-1 would be nice.
Call me a miserable old sod if you like, ("no Tewkes, we wouldn't dream of it") but I'm not optimistic about this one and I'm sticking with my prediction on another thread of a narrow 2-1 loss. Our back four have coped really well with 'name' strikers this season, but we've not seen two of the class of Davies and Eagles play in tandem and I think it could be too much for us. In addition, Davies is a 'nemesis' player and whether you believe in that or not, he always seems to have a good game against us and scores more often than we'd like. Come on and prove me wrong, you Reds!
Pritchard n hulse on the bench kermogant and frimpong in the starting 11 chris Powell is the new tinkerman
Stephens booked after five minutes - Bad Boyz, Bad Boyz - seriously though, that is not a very bright move.
Worst match of the season immediately following the best. Just the sort of match where we could have done with Fuller to come on and do something different.
