Just remembered ,never mind he's not ours , 2 goals in 15 games that was money well spent .I wonder where he'll end up http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...news/wilfried-bony-suffers-injury_242338.html
Should never have gone to Man City, we all knew that, providing he's fit, Auguero will start every game. Didn't think he'd be the type to be 'happy' being a bit part player.
He has made his bed so **** him, besides we cant go paying the wages man city pays, We pay enough already......Bony is old news we have moved on and got better.....
It's a fact of life other teams don't play our way so when players move on they don't get the service/support they got when here so tough T!!T!Y
I really don't know why they bought him, though we cannot refuse such transfer fees, he was a beast for us...................
Players know what they are doing when they go to these big clubs that stockpile talent and buy big names. The player increases his salary substantially but knows full well that the payback is very limited opportunities. Look at Samir Nasri. He would walk into many sides in the Prem but hardly gets a kick, usually coming on late in a game. Scott Sinclair ruined his career going there but still the lure of the big bucks is too much to resist. Saying "I want to play in the Champions League" is laudable but most players don't get near the pitch. I liked Wilf and want him to do well but he must have known what he was getting into.
I would say in regards to Sinclair, that whilst is career sort of stopped with Man City, he is now playing on a regular basis with Villa, so in fact his career is very much on. With Bony, he's gone there to further his career yes, it's not quite working out the way he wishes right now, but seriously if someone came up to you with a serious offer of doubling or tripling your salary, would you turn it down?
Its a real Agatha Christie, just where do the careers of Swansea Old Boys go when they leave? The curse of the Jacks appears to have struck again. I wouldn't change anything now and I doubt any of us saw at the time just how good a decision selling Bony was. Bony = £25m = Naughton + Cork + Ayew + Eder + Tabanou + several academy players + £cash left over. A truely great deal imo Also, we haven't missed a beat since we sold him, courtesy of Gomis stepping up and now we have Ayew too with Eder and Marvin in the wings. Good luck Bony
Sinclair would be a fantastic player for us and we should have gone for him when we could......He has scored TWO hat tricks for villa in 4 days......he would have fitted in with us perfectly...
Eh? You know a hat trick is 3 goals right? Villa drew 2-2 yesterday.... Plus who would he replace? Montero? Ayew? Somehow I really dont think he would fit in here any more.
I have no problem with Bony wanting to go on to bigger and better things..... CL football, possibly win the PL this season, vastly bigger pay packet..... only an idiot would turn that down. It comes down to self belief really, if you think you are good enough to eventually nail down a first team place then go for it. Good luck to Bony. Gomis is doing very well for us at the moment, but I still think Bony is a better player....
Personally, I'd never have a bad word to say about Bony, one of the best players that has ever graced our club, just in my own opinion. His strength at times was breathtaking and some sublime finishes for us in his relatively short stay. I do wish him well, but I don't think he'll be too happy with the amount of appearances he's made. As for Sinclair, again, was fantastic for us, and the Wembley hat-trick will always make him a hero to most Jacks but he wouldn't get anywhere near our starting XI right now.
Re Sinclair I take your point Jager. Perhaps 'almost ruined his career' was more accurate. If he'd stayed at City he'd never have got on the pitch. As for Bony, I've never criticised him for going at all. But there is a price to be paid and he's paying it because he won't get 20 goals this season and will play very little football imo. You say he went there to 'further his career' but I'm not sure that anyone going to a club like Citeh is ever going to further their career unless they know they are going to get game time. Even De Bruyn may not do so despite his eye-watering price tag and wages. Bony will get his moments at City but I can't see how he can further his career there, though as you say his bank manager will be happy.
