Went to see it yesterday. Utterly spellbinding performance by Rami Malek. 5 mins in you forgot it was an actor playing Freddie. Emotional and moving so take hankies. I’d honestly say it was one of the best films i’ve ever seen. Off again at the weekend.
I've avoided it cos I've heard it's ****, I'm in 2 minds about seeing it. Never liked Queen, but I thought it might be a good film, but it's not pretty scathing reviews. Not that I don't like "moving" films however, saw the Lady Gaga film A Star Is Born a few weeks ago, and thought it was brilliant.
Aye, A Star is Born is a good film. Another good one is the circus film with Hugh Jackman, I was pleasantly surprised by both.
If, like me, you know your Queen, the factual inaccuracies and erroneous timescales will likely irritate you irredeemably. If that's not important and you like the music, you should enjoy it enormously. I loved a lot of their music - especially from the early rockier years, like Liar.
Just because Lizzie didn't give you a knighthood for supplying information on No Chance's nefarious operations is no reason to hate her. Get over it.
Cannot see why anyone would want to see a film of a musician and band they hate. I'd rather eat your poo than see a film about the life and times of Mariah Carey..
Depends on how the movie is made doesn't it - i.e. whether it just focuses on the music, or is some gritty interesting story about the bands personal life, issues etc, which makes a good movie even if you don't like the band. i.e. I like rock/metal music, but I really don't like Motorhead, but I found the movie about Lemmy (it's just called Lemmy), so be a very entertaining and uplifting film to watch.
Critics panned it, however, public have voted it a huge hit. Great performances and attention to detail. Left the wife in tears despite me telling her he dies in the end.
