I firmly trust MH on this as he must see something that he can motivate with these players. Let the Hughes effect soak into them as they may well surprise you.
If he doesn't score 10 -15 goals next season one of our midfield will have to weigh in with a 20 goals, can't expect to do well with just Cisse's goals. He may make that possible (I hope so) but he'll still need to score a few himself.
I posted on here the other day, there is a good striker in Bothroyd. He needs to learn to be more aggressive, we've got a boss who used to be one of the nastiest around!
You're right North, there's no doubt he has the ability. COLIN put all his faith in him and this time last season was saying he could be the new Andy Carroll. COLIN was totally correct but unfortunately was let down by a lad with no "eye of the Tiger" as it were. He ain't got it in his heart, therefore I see him as a lost cause.
Sadly though Zamora’s goal was the only contribution I could remember him making; he seemed pretty disinterested throughout. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/fb_news.php?storyid=17564
Zamora has been a disappointment since he has been at Rangers Cisse is the man to score the goals but can he hold the ball up if we play one up front HH and Cisse may be worth a look
You know what they say about an old dog and new trick. Bothroyd isn't going to change, he is a Championship player.
The problem with Bothroyd and taarabt for that matter, is that their absolute best position is not upfront, midfield or winger. But behind the striker dropping deep to get the ball. Bothroyd is very comfortable on the ball and has a deadly shot, but because of his size and frame is confused for a target man or striker but has never had the attributes to truly excel in these positions. He is a good squad player to have because of his versatily but we will not see the best of him until he plays in his best position, which we dont have the luxury of doing..........and in a 442 Zamora is king by the way, people who knock him dont know about football simple as.
I thought he done really well last year. Came to us at a really tough time and ended up holding the line on his own for most games. Miles better then Bothroyd and the same sort of player.
But thats the problem Bothroyd is not a "target man" because off the ball and work rate he's championship level, but on the ball he's definatley prem quality.
That's a really good post, especially the last sentence. (I still think Bothroyd hasn't got the desire to make it though) Well said that man.
