I've noticed that a few of the articles posted on here (but not necessarily the thoughts of the Not606 posters) seem to think that BZ was rather underwhelming since signing.

I have to say that it strikes me as very unfair as he worked tirelessly up front and bullied defenders incessantly. He didn't score much at all but did highlight that it's only when you have a player like that in your team that you really appreciate them.

Part of the reason that I reckon Sparky will adopt his preferred 442 this season is due to the fact that an isolated Cisse won't get half the chances that he would with a decent foil. Plus the potential to easily move 50 yards up the pitch because we have someone that excels in holding up the ball can't be underestimated.

I can see Zamora playing as many games as anyone this year.

    Just me?

It is unfair and very naive. Zamora suffered directly from Cisse getting sent of as it meant we had to go 4-5-1, but he still worked tirelessly and proved his skill with his hold up play. But holding the ball up in crucial matches and doing the job you've been tasked to do, isn't as sexy as scoring goals, and that's all that matters to some people.

And I think a few people need reminding that he is a player that chose to come to us just 3 months after beating us 6-0, he scored well then!!

Give him a chance and he will prove vital in games.

Inconsistent, went from outstanding to awful.
We could have had Jelavic instead, mistake.

Zamora has looked good in some games but really lazy in others, I think thats what people dont like.

They will accept trying and not playing well (unless it goes down to a sub pub team player like Barton did) but wont accept laziness.

We need to give all our players a clean slate for the new season and get behind them 101%

Definitely willing to give Bobby a chance but had some good games and some bad.

At the end of the day his job is to score goals, we forgive Cisse because he did. Bobby yet to be proven.

He holds the ball up superbly, and brings the best out of Cisse when partnered with him

What a load of rubbish Northolt ... sometimes you let yourself down regarding the team ... awful?

All the players raised their games to combine and win games against the odds ... anyone should see how important BZ was in our performances ... because he didn't score he is dismissed ... YOU and no on here thought Jelavic would be the success he was

    Get up to speed

Yeah he was awful and disinterested in a couple games, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.
    I'm good like that ;)

Calm down DT, like I said in my first post.
Inconsistent, he also ranged from Grafter to lazy.
He carries injuries, past his best and I'd have preferred Jelavic<ok>
Don't get abusive now, it's just one man's opinion.

This is the trouble with some of our fans sometimes, too quick to get on players backs, when they're still finding themselves,I'll give you a Les ferdinand and Paul Furlong for example!

    This

I know he wasn't exactly brilliant in all games, but formations, sending offs etc didn't help him, but if you are going to play a formation that requires one of the strikers to hold the ball up and you have a choice of BZ or JB, then i would say one holds the ball up brilliantly and one has got the first touch of a blind donkey having a fit.

I know, obviously messageboards are good for spreading the word and the banter, but like anything there is alway's negative drawbacks,it's learning to see through the bullshit I suppose........

Can I also remind the bashers, that 3 seasons ago most talked about HH in the same tone people talk about Hulse today. He couldn't do a thing right for us, but look how he's played for the past couple of seasons.

Give Zamora a chance, because if he becomes settled then he's a very dangerous forward to have. Let's try and be positive about our players for a change and hope for the best, rather than expecting the worst.
