Board Announcement Club releases statement detailing Boardroom changes. Bristol City Football Club has announced key boardroom moves linked to changes to the business structure and responsibilities of the club’s executive team. Jon Lansdown, previously Managing Director, will step up to become the club’s Vice Chairman, assisting current Chairman Keith Dawe. Doug Harman takes on the role of Chief Executive, whilst the four-man Board is completed by Ernie Arathoon, recently appointed a Non-Executive Director. JonLansdownsmallChairman Dawe said: “The club has gone through a significant period of adjustment and rationalisation over the last few months. “As a result a number of changes have been made at Board level affecting key areas of the business. “Jon Lansdown moves to become Vice Chairman and Doug Harman becomes the club’s Chief Executive with immediate effect. “Doug will take overall responsibility for football and our Academy, as well as the commercial, financial and operational aspects of our business. “In addition, Ernie Arathoon is a welcome and recent addition to the Board as a Non-Executive Director.” Additionally, John Pelling has been appointed as the new Academy Director of Operations. Pelling is currently working with Sheffield Wednesday and was previously with Nottingham Forest at Board level for more than 15 years. He will take up his post from the end of the month. Meanwhile, Development Director Guy Price is to leave the club at the end of this month. Price has decided to combine other business opportunities and is considering undertaking an MBA at Loughborough University. Dawe added: “Guy has worked long and hard for the club over the years and we thank him for his contribution and efforts. He leaves with our best wishes for the future.”
Jon Lansdown will eventually be our chairmen? Seems to be moving closer every year, No offense to Dawe but who the **** is he? We've not done very well with him in the hot seat and he certainly doesn't connect with the fans. Hopefully JL does replace him soon
Jon will become chairman at some point to me a chairmans job is to make sure the company is functioning properly they don't need to be seen or heard from by the public
They don't need to but it creates a better relationship with the fans if they do. Never had any problems like we have in the past 3 years with Lansdown at the helm. Also with the loss of 20 million + in dawes reign I wouldn't say he has done a good job.
I've met Keith Dawe on a couple of occasions. Nice bloke and comes across very well, but he isn't particularly people focused and he prefers to stay behind the scenes.
Sorry but as a chairmen you should be FAN focused. We are the most important people at the club at the end of the day. In his reign I don't think he has come out once publically and said anything to us. He is at the top of our food chain and we need to know who he is. He hasn't got to be in our face with it but ffs at least connect with us and let us know who he is.
Can't argue with any of that mate, but as I said he's not that sort of personality and is about as suited to the role as the useless lump Sexstone was.
