As some may remember i started a post in November detailing a bet that i have found some good success with, the bet being a trixi with an additional treble. I wanted to see if the bet is as efficient as i imagine or not so decided to run the post as an experiment. I was prompted by the common suggestions that multiples can never pay long term, and whilst i do generally agree with this i also feel this bet has actual potential. It proved pretty good and when run in November finished with a profit of 27 points but also included many losing days and so left the matter undecided i felt.

I did not wish to continue it back then as i wanted to give it every possible chance and i felt winter jumps has never been my game and so waited for the flat season. I intend to start again from today until the end of April to see what happens. I will once again be staking to £10 a point for ease of viewing the bet and the stats. Prices will be stated at what is available at the time and will be placed via William Hill or Betvictor unless stated to get best odds Guaranteed which will apply.

    So here goes

    Kempton 3.30 Eshtibaak 5-2 Unplaced
    Kempton 4.05 Primaeval Evns Won
Doncaster 4.20 Sir Graham Wade 7-4 Unplaced
    All best odds guaranteed

    £10 win trixie & £10 win treble
    Stake £50
    Return £0
    Running total £ - 50

Hope it all goes well Blue. If not, you should just back yourself in tipping comps, you'd clean up. :)

At last a return and but for Twice over's narrow defeat we would have turned around the most attrocious start i could have imagined. I know it sounds ludicrous with the stats this month so far but i still believe in this bet.

Bluesky very interesting to see your results of late. I personally think this is a very dodgy time of the year to be betting, you were certainly much more successful in the winter. Best of luck going forward <ok>

Thanks for your kind words Oddy. I have felt that everything has been against me in as much as it's the change over from one code to the other which is notoriously a difficult punting time and the weather has recently been very soft which does not help. This said however i am always more successful on the flat than jumps and it's no good me making excuses. I could have let the post drift away but that would have been wrong as it is genuinely an experiment to test the bet as i think it's one i have done well from, but as we know it's only the wins that get selectively remembered and so i wanted to make a post of it to see. At the end of the month the result will be as it is and will be there for all to see but foolishly perhaps i am not going to give up on the bet as i really do think it has merit. One of the reasons for this is that if Twice Over would have beaten Questioning in that photo at Newmarket despite all other results we would have been even which shows that you can win big sums for actually only asking 3 horses that are reasonably short priced favs and so expected to actually win.

One thing that has been nice however is that not one person has posted abuse of any kind and i think that were it the old 606 that would not have been the case. I really think the people on here are really good people and Ron has got the thing running well. So thanks everyone for not running me over for my poor results in this post even if i do perhaps deserve it.

I have actually backed these horses as well by the way.

Last roll of the dice for this month. I have been really shaken by the results of this experiment as i really did, and maybe foolishly, still have faith in this bet. I will persevere with it after this but without placing a timeframe on it which will hopefully lead to a more selective usage of it.

    Kempton
    2.45 Mutafaakir 5-4 unp
    3.15 Missisippi 3-1 won
    3.45 Furbelow 2-1 won
    All best odds
    £10 win trixi & £10 win treble
    Stake £50
    Return £120
    End Total £-612

At least we went out with a winner, and only the Hamdan Favourite prevented a horendous month being turned around today. I personally blame Richard Hills for the complete failure of this months experiment and before anyone wishes to point out that he retired and Hanigan rode it- i know. He however would have saddled it, or ridden it in work or simply looked at it, and that would have been enough so there.
