Another day, another contract extension signed. Not sure he will start many games but he is Wycombe through and through.

I've lost count but I think we now have retained everyone we wanted to keep and have signed 2 new players that we are pleased with. Is that correct? What is the situation with Donnelly? What are we short of now?

Still waiting on Foster to sign. Looks like Westwood may well be leaving though as Wrexham are confident of signing him. Any Donnelly deal may well depend on the Championship play off on Monday. If they go up I expect it will be possible to get him permanently. If they don't go up then a year long loan may be more likely. I think we need another centre back, a winger and a striker or two.

What little I saw of Foster seemed quite encouraging so I hope he signs. What's keeping him? Did Strevens sign? I think I'll create a sticky post with the current situation constantly updated with any relevant posts.

It would be nice by position but I wouldn't know where to start. It was much easier in the old days when it was always, for every team:
    GK (1)
    RB (2), LB (3)
    RH (4), CH (5), LH (6)
    RW (7), IR (8), CF (9), IL (10), LW (11)

    We have (excluding youth players):
    2 Goalies (Bull, Arnold)
    1 Right Back (Mccoy)
    2 Centre Backs (Winfield, Johnson)
    1 Left Back (Sandell)
    2 Right Mids (Betsy, Ainsworth)
3 Centre Mids (Bloomfield, Harding, Lewis)
0 Left Mids (Don't call Betsy a left mid)
    3 Strikers (Rendell, Strevens, Beavon)

At the moment I think we need another 2 full backs, 1 left mid, 2 centre backs, 1 centre mid and 1 striker.

Great, thanks theblues. Are these positions independent of formation? So we need a squad of 21 and at present we have a "playable" squad of 14. Will any of the spaces come from the youth academy?

Thw following format is Position, Number Required, Number Confirmed, (Players Confirmed), (To Be Filled)

    Goalies 2,2 (Bull, Arnold)
    Right Backs 2,1 (Mccoy), (TBF)
Centre Backs 4,2 (Winfield, Johnson), (TBF) (TBF)
    Left Backs 2,1 (Sandell), (TBF)
    Right Mids 2,2 (Betsy, Ainsworth)
Centre Mids 4,3 (Bloomfield, Harding, Lewis), (TBF)
    Left Mids 1,0 (TBF)
Strikers 4,3 (Rendell, Strevens, Beavon), (TBF)

If that's OK I'll stick it up, so to speak. Why do we need only 1 Left mid?

Its just a guideline- two new left mids might be useful. I just think 1 would be enough as Betsy can fill in or Sandell can come up if required, so I don't think 2 would be too necessary. Wage constraints are always an issue, so I think the money might be better spent in other areas.
