    <doh>

    Been torturing me for 2 days.

    Just did a complete reinstall of the server, disabled all extra functionality such as uploading stuff. Bear with me while I secure the thing down trying to remove any vulnerability they can get us with <grr>

    delibrate denial of service, they find some vulnerability with your site and keep whacking it making it fall down.

    I've spent the last 4 hours disabling everything that could possibly take processing power and kill the site, going to add them back one by one. Stressful stuff - looking much more stable already though.

    I dont think there is much you can do from your end Mick, your host should be providing hardware protection against these sort of attacks, but unfortunately GoDaddy and notoriously ****e.

    Not on Godaddy, got a dedicated server with 1and1 in Germany. They are **** heads too, phoned them last night and said I think the server is under attack - they said 'yup we think so too, you better get that sorted then, nothing we can do' <doh>

    If you would like any help, I would be more than happy to oblige. I know all about DDoS and how to prevent them from occuring. Send me the script you like and I can make the necessary adjustments.

    It is easy. Spot vulnerabilities in the make up of a website and chuck a Trojan Horse at it. Knowing where the vulberabilites are is a pain. Makes you wonder who has the time to do this and why they are not at work....
