Was enjoying a pint in the pub, while watching the game. Chatting to an old couple who were Arsenal fans and having a pleasant time when just before the end of the game, she said " ooh, ooh there is something I should tell you, my son used to play for Swansea"

Turns out they were Steve Torpey's parents. He loved his time with the Swans and enjoyed his time In the city. Was very surprised that they had waited over an hour and a half to tell me, would have been one of the first things I would have mentioned.

He is now a coach at York City.

Very few players have ever had a bad word to say about the club and that shows what a tight knit group we are.

Torpedo was a great servant to Swansea and did a more than decent job. A cult hero from the class of Conforth et al. Glad to see he is doing well with York.
Wow....those days were not so long ago but are a lifetime away from today's wonderful heights ...... BIG UP TO ALL OF THAT ERA ...LEGENDS FROM A DIFFERENT ERA BUT JACK BASTARDS THROUGH AND THROUGH

Actually I don't remember him very much and had to look up on wiki (there are two of them there ), could see why then I was out of the country and living in Russia at that time. The net was not really viable , and the papers were the international version of the guardian which was a few days behind, and some other crap I can't remember. The tv was euronews and cnn.

But it's nice to see that he's doing well nonetheless .
