Have to say, I was surprised to see Blackpool as low as they are in the league - I think my perception was skewed by the media hype surrounding Tom Ince. Not sure what effect the appointment of Paul Ince will have, but I'm sceptical he'll tactical out-think SOD and their best hopes lie with a flash of inspiration, rather than a strictly adhered to gameplan. I'm still concerned by the brittleness of our defence, but there are signs of a more organised team and last Saturday would suggest a lot of work has been done on set pieces recently. I think giving Elliott/Skuse instructions to badger Ince and get him frustrated could be a good move and if we can shut him down especially, there's every reason to hope that we can grab at least a point - potentially vital ahead of difficult games against promotion chasing Brighton and Middlesbrough. Up the City!
There you go again with your short sighted and blinkered thinking, I have us down for 3 points plus any bonus we can achieve but, THESE ARE NOT THE IMPORTANT GAMES...!!!
Not really, maybe you didn't read http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...ble-(according-to-some)-Step-One-Accomplished
Come on Prem surely you must realise that ALL games are important when you are down in our position in the table. I have always regarded you as a total realist but I truly can't understand why you spend so much time criticising threads that have good comments and intentions. City are in a terrible state of affairs and regardless of where the blame should be placed we all want us to stay up this season and rebuild next season, hopefully under what can only be described as the best stewardship since we got promoted. I have posted some negative comments but have now come to the realisation that my words cannot, and will not, change what will happen at Ashton Gate for the remainder of the season, and as such have put my faith for our survival in the hands of Sean O'Driscoll.
If we can win on saturday, it means we can afford to slip up against either Bolton or Birmingham, who are decent sides (esp Bolton) and not have to panic as much. I would rather have points in hand now.
I think what PoB is trying to say, it is important but if we lose this one it's not the end of the season as we still have games to get out of it. So don't panic and say that's it we are ****ed. I think
Absolutely spot in ROD.... Mike, the aim was not to critise but point out that realistically, this isn't one of the games that I (and many others) had us down to get anything from so if we do, we have to regard it as a bonus. The yo-yo of emotions after each victory/defeat is beginning to wear a bit and like I have said several times before, focus on and win the games I highlighted and this should be enough to survive so, EVEN IF WE DO GO BOTTOM ON SATURDAY,... Keep calm and carry on....
But I think the pitch is going to play a bigger part than anyone thought until a few days ago. City's shape as per SO'D is fairly settled now with an emphasis on defensive solidarity and trying to get something on the break. Whereas Blackpool it would appear are hurriedly re-thinking their game plan if the Evening Post report is accurate. http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/Poor...tory-18266989-detail/story.html#axzz2MCMQ2tMg
Maybe that's not so good news as we don't seem to do too well against the long ball sides, we will see. Meanwhile, in relation to In contrast, the Seasiders have won only one of their last six home games and Blackpool fans have become increasingly disgruntled as their team has slipped down the table. They're disgruntled...??!! I've got an 8 team accumulator to win £2.5k going on the following to win their leagues United (at 7/4!), Barca, Juve, Bayern, Porto and also Swindon, Gillingham and Blackpool to get promoted by any means... Spot the weakest link...!
Prem you are missing the point; Blackpool are not a long ball team so that style will be alien to them. Trying to change the style of the last three or four years will not be done overnight. I HOPE.
respect your reply Prem but wouldn't we make my heart safer if wewon some of the games that you were prepared to let go by without points? I'm not getting any younger you know!
