Loads of negativity from on this board from the Liverpool fans.

Sure some of the players signed have taken a while to settle in yet, some have started amazingly, look at Suarez and Enrique.

Kenny had to rebuild after the mess H&G caused, he has got rid of the likes of Konchesky, Poulson etc.

If we sign new players and end up with a bench of Carroll, Downing, Henderson etc its all good.

Kenny said two days ago, its a work in progress, Noah did not build the ark in a day, we need some patience

City are good at home, we had our best four players missing. anyone who saw the game will admit 3-0 flattered City. United got done 6-1 so it ain't that bad.

Great thread OP. Yeah to be honest were we ever likely to beat City on their own patch with Suarez and Lucas missing and Gerrard on the bench? We played quite well in spells and at times bossed the game and no question 3-0 was not a fair scoreline, with one a Reina error and another a very dubious penalty. I think we saw today that generally we are looking a better team but we perhaps need two more real quality signings! In some ways being so pessimistic after a loss to the leaders shows how far we have come in such a short time! Add the fact that we can see a number of improvements that we can make and I would say its actually looking pretty good!

It will blow over. We do need to sign a striker to turn some of those draws to wins - I must of written that 10 times and still Kenny has signed anyone.

We will not be as good as City/United/Spurs overnight. It takes time or masses and masses of cash. We have bought poorly that is true, but that cannot be changed now.

We have to meet our immediate goals and get rid of the **** as we go along.

= No Suarez or Gerrard proper tonight either guys.

We genuinely did play alright, admitedly we never looked like scoring, but the passing looked very crisp, we do lack something, but we literally had our best four players missing.

I haven't said a bloody word because how can you be bloody positive after a bloody result like that?

Possession, chances, lovely - it's goals that win games, though.

Fact is without certain players we can't score goals. That's not being negative that's a statement of fact.

And sometimes we can't bloody defend, either!<doh>

We need to keep the players we have signed, if we get better players in then they become squad players who need to work hard to fight for a place in the team. You need a decent squad and a decent bench these days.....

Yes, but if we won six nil and Carroll scored four, then some(the same ones that are being negative) would be saying, I think Caroll is great and we might just win the league. It's just one game, against very good opponents, who had all the luck tonight.............................

Reckon Kenny threw the game, resting our best players, just to keep the Mancs of the top of the table. Kenny to Reina "Let a couple in tonight Peps, don't want the dirty Mancs winning the league"

The only way we were gonna win tonight was 0-1 with the players we had missing unfortunately that plan ended as soon as Kuyt and then Reina gifted them the first goal. We do lack quality especially with Suarez out and Gerrard and Bellamy either not fully fit or able to play regularly. However a couple of quality players and I think we will be good to go, may even help to compliment the likes of Downing and Carrol.
