What result do we want then? A Southampton win puts 2nd place 8 points ahead of us with us having a game in hand, but keeps us level with the playoffs. If we won our game in hand we'd go to at least sharing 4th and being 5 points off 2nd. A draw puts 2nd place 6 points ahead of us with us having a game in hand and leaves us a point adrift of the playoffs. If we won our game in hand we'd be up to 5th, 4th if Birmingham didn't win their other game, and 3 off auto promotion. A Birmingham win would keep us 5 points adrift of Saints with us having a game in hand, but we'd also be 3 points behind Birmingham on even games. We'd also be a point off the playoffs but with a game in hand to lift us to 5th. --------------- I'm actually going for a Birmingham win. If So'ton go for a bad run I think they'll slide, Birmingham will hopefully struggle in that busy March with their players having had the Europa League putting the exertion of extra games into their season earlier on as well.
You want a Saints win. If we finish in the playoffs and so do you, well thats championship footy next year for the tigers
Any game between two rivals and a draw is almost always the best option as it's two points lost by both teams.
It's slightly different with the points gap here though. If we still think we can make 2nd then either a draw or a Birmingham win is best (same smaller gap left if all games in hand get won, just depends who you think will **** up most after today). If we don't think we can make second it'll be a Saints win.
If you go on a slide I don't think it'll stop before 7th place. Cardiff are in their usual "ready to **** it up" position. Leeds have elected not to be good to start with this season you're taking their place, which means any time now you drop like a stone for no apparent reason.
the perfect result for Hull City was the 0 - 0 that happened. I had tio laugh when Billy Sharp missed that sitter. Oh dear, Oh dear.
